Just need to break the horn of standard monoblos - not white monoblos..
I got my blood red horn on the 1st time killing standard monoblos (horn broken)..

(Ad-Hoc) Forbidden already told that their using the same channel 1.. but diff firmware..
(Xlink Kai) Forbidden also got problem to access quest via Kai.. I already experienced it with him last time..

If i post quest - he's having difficulty to access the quest..
If he post quest - i also having the same issue..

Forbidden mentioned that he use 3.60 M33 & the other 1 using 3.70 M33

I think if Forbidden use both the same firmware like 3.60 M33 maybe can work..

since you got both psp type, can clarify both version can adhoc each other in mhf2 or not?

lol people! I have 2 friends who play Monster Hunter Freedom 2. One uses a Slim PSP and another uses a Fat PSP (The one who uses the Fat PSP version doesn't have a com) . They are 2 different person.

Me and my Slim PSP user friend both uses 3.60 version, we didn't upgrade it. We can play via Ad-Hoc just fine, no problem whatsoever but with "Kai" we keep getting comm error, quest occasionally not showing up & Breaking-Off in the middle of a quest run. We can sometimes still play but there is more problems then fun.

Now, for my other friend (who uses a Fat version). Me and my friend who uses a Slim PSP can only play with him via Ad-Hoc because he doesn't own a com BUT the problem now is, me and my friend (Slim user) can see my other friend (Fat user) character and name and we can see each other and take quest just fine BUT he couldn't see us. He could see our names but quest won't appear on his PSP and when he creates a quest, me and my friend (Slim user) can see the quest he created but we couldn't join it (It keeps saying can't confirm quest). I went to Gamers Solution with him but still no luck, doesn't know why my friend who uses the Fat PSP can't see me & my friend who uses a Slim PSP in gathering hall. His version was 3.40 something before, updated to 3.70 but still the same. That's why I tried posting here see is there anyone having problems playing MHF2 with a Slim & Fat PSP together.

3 of us are playing Region 3 MHF2 by the way.

So basically, 2 Slim user can play fine via Ad-Hoc but is having an ass playing on Kai & 1 Fat user can't join the Slim user via normal Ad-Hoc but can see their characters name.

i never have a problem on kai with the slim.. even chowdm...

lol! That's what I told my friend too lol, I mean that's not possible. I suspect maybe it's a Hardware or Software thing but not sure. We tried using Bernard's from (Gamers Solution) Fat PSP but he too can't see my character nor quest, his using a modded PSP with 3.60 version by the way if I'm not mistaken. He doesn't have an original Fat PSP with him at that time so we couldn't test that out. Really strange. Oh yeah and 1 more thing, then we ask Bernard to let my friend try using a Slim this time to see if he can see my guy with it and now my friend can see me..... o_O
There's an assumption that maybe a Modded PSP can't play MHF2 with the original PSP. Just a theory though but my friend is using a original Fat PSP although he did send his Fat PSP back to the factory about 2 times for repair......maybe something happened there? Anyhoo, any possible explanation will be helpful. My friend is really sad now. =\

yes you must port forward 30000

if direct connect from modem, no point port forward lol

u and your slim psp friend using original 3.60 firmware or m33 version? all of u playing from umd or "something else"?

I see. I didn't do any port forward on my router, only on the Kai config, maybe that's the problem. I'll try that, will keep you guys posted.

Added on September 26, 2007, 3:23 amI guess original 3.60 firmware, both of us didn't touch it since we got it. All of us playing from UMD, Region 3 & Channel 1. I don't see why my Fat user friend can't see us.

(And here I thought 3 of us can finally play together but this type of unheard problem has to surface.)

are you sure both is R3 umd? please check whether the gamecode is ULUS or ULAS on the box, umd or savegame...

Yep, I'm 100% sure. ULAS 42110. No matter what, his Fat PSP just can't see me and my friend who is using Slim.

The latest ver for my psp slim is 3.70m33.....shin, dao and zen play with me yterday night no problem...can link with each...no problem at all....and i try to link mhp2 with my psp fat which is using 3.40oea....no problem also....

Those cant link majority is due to diff region of the game.....coz mhp2 or mhf2 also got diff region....mhp2 got region 2 and 3.....mhf2 got region 1 and 3....1 is for US, 2 is for Jap, 3 is for Asia....make sure 2 players are having the same region...then only can link with each other via ad-hoc.....but link via xlink...wat region/language also can be linked.....
