Choosing to use an electrostatic sprayer, fogger, mister, or vaporizer: If trained professionals are available to apply them, people may decide to use newer technologies that either spray disinfectant electrostatically, or disperse it through fog, mist, or vapor. Cases where these technologies could be more practical include situations where there might be a confirmed case of COVID-19, use of the space is needed quickly, and some surfaces could be very hard to reach to disinfect by hand. These are sometimes used in healthcare settings after a patient is no longer using a room. These devices aerosolize chemicals, or suspend them in the air, and they can stay in the air for long periods of time, especially if the area is not well ventilated. Aerosolizing any disinfectant can irritate the skin, eyes, or airways and can cause other health issues for people who breathe it in. CDC does not either recommend, or not recommend, use of these devices for disinfecting community spaces for COVID-19. If they are used, they should be used with extreme caution. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/p...s/sprayers.html good luck if u wanna use it in confined area. depends on what you spray with it.
alcohol, expensive and flammable. https://shopee.com.my/%F0%9F%91%91-READY-ST...8019.5133305282 Chlorine Dioxide Tablet, cheaper. most shops are using this. https://shopee.com.my/Healthy-Chlorine-Diox...2541.9489977660 |

QUOTE(lakini80 @ Aug 24 2021, 12:46 PM) The gun only destroy batteries. The liquid solution u use can or may not kill viruses. Suggestive mentioned chlorine dioxide CLO2. That is effective but just slightly longer time taken. HOCL also known as hypochlorous acid, a sub of chlorine family, also effective. Alcohol has super rapid killing properties but highly flammable and should only be used on controlled environments only. BKC dosed correctly can kill viruses TiO2 also definitely can kill viruses PCmX also can kill viruses. Alot la. Do some reading. Each had pros and cons. Cost la, after effects la, dosage la, killing time la. I only sell sticker btw. |

To kill virus you need 70% alcohol. Those water inside are sold in a jug where you dilute 1/10 parts. Obviously doesn't work. People who buy those are retarded.

I think relevant authorities should address this issue, I personally could not find any information or research that study this, at least with experimental data?
People thought this spray is superior because it applies the solution evenly onto the surface and it doesnt leave a wet surface. My logic tells me that this gave people a false sense of security, if its not wet with disinfectant, its not sanitized. Mist may not cover all surfaces sufficiently. If want to sanitize, use conventional spray to make sure its wet thoroughly. |

QUOTE(cloud_valentine89 @ Aug 24 2021, 03:11 PM) I think relevant authorities should address this issue, I personally could not find any information or research that study this, at least with experimental data? not really the spray but close enough i guessPeople thought this spray is superior because it applies the solution evenly onto the surface and it doesnt leave a wet surface. My logic tells me that this gave people a false sense of security, if its not wet with disinfectant, its not sanitized. Mist may not cover all surfaces sufficiently. If want to sanitize, use conventional spray to make sure its wet thoroughly. https://covid-19.moh.gov.my/kajian-dan-peny...19_21052020.pdf |

QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Aug 24 2021, 02:51 PM) This is what I believe, after spray, need to wipe the surfaces - the droplets even if 100% alcohol or whatever disinfectant, if no fully cover the surface then what's the use - need to wipe to spread the disinfectant across the surface - which makes this atomizer spray generally useless, imo |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Aug 24 2021, 03:15 PM) not really the spray but close enough i guess Yea. Using this spray is like telling people lets not bathe with water and soap. Lets take our clothes off, spray with the mist because its more effective than bathing. My anology is abit extreme but thats what people around me think so.https://covid-19.moh.gov.my/kajian-dan-peny...19_21052020.pdf |

The most important is the liquid/solution. Need to use the correct solution. Usually need to dilute and that need to follow manufacturer's instruction.
The gun is just an applicator. No point having expensive gun but just cap ayam solution, or worse just plain water. |

QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Aug 24 2021, 03:24 PM) What about this? Out of my domain of knowledge - but if use common sense, this contraption still no full coverage la - need to wipe to spread the disinfecting solution across all the surface that need to be disinfected, gives a false sense of security - if the mist/spray is disinfecting, your eyes should sting, your nose/lungs will be irritated too - unless they use Johnson and Johnson soap - 'No more tears'.The other day when I went to enter the wet market. The Pak guard ask me to stand inside. Lift up my arms and turn around few times. Lol ![]() If mist spray can provide full coverage, your skin should be fully covered which I don't think is possible in this low pressure spray. Anyway I don't usually care what they use (since it is gimmick) as long as they don't harm me. My main concern is what solution they use - manatau if I have allergy to it. I'm more concern if this thing or the solution water is a gimmick and users believe in the product, this will give them the false sense of security.
Hence got chance of getting infected. |

not sure if anyone brought this up yet or not at this point
but the gun you should be looking for is electrostatic sprayer, it allows the solution to better adhere to the surface rather than just dropping like mist the technology is pioneered by VICTORY in US, made by a malaysian company which also produces DYSON products in senai |

The device is just to create vapor or mist only. Nothing to do with killing virus. The solution used as disinfectant is Chlorine Dioxide like incognitroll gave in his link.Hence got chance of getting infected. The ClO₂ is used to treat water for long time already. It is used to kill bacteria and virus and was tested that after 2 hours it is still effective on surface disinfected by it. However, it is not meant to be drink https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorine_dioxide |

QUOTE(Lykpoogi @ Aug 24 2021, 03:59 PM) Yes it will - for the viruses that it comes in contact with, but what about those the the mist or droplets it doesn't come in contact with - for me, for 100% kill rate - you either need 100% coverage of the surface - or 100% saturation of the air - don't think the atomizer or mist spray can achieve - so unless you know what's this is, you will get the false sense of security that the whole room or package that you sprayed is 100% sanitised when in fact it is much lower coverage. |

False security is all I can say.
How is 'spraying' giving you a good coverage of the area you want to sanitize? Compare to wiping, spraying is just kinda It's like painting with a brush (wiping) vs. spray painting. The latter - - you can't see with your eyes since the sanitizer is translucent. |

KKM use disinfectant fogging machine in their ambulance every time after they transported covid patients
Wonder why so many LYN covid expert say its ineffective? Should they advice KKM to stop using it as they are more expert than the KKM doctors expert? |

QUOTE(Imp Bron @ Aug 24 2021, 05:28 PM) spray gun is the scam, so many in shopee someone in my office bought one. Literally glorified spray, not a fogging one. The particle so much thicker Yup , depending on the spray gun itself , some spray bigger particles of mist . My company got a big fogging machine , depending on the solution used , can create really good fogs , needs 5 mins warm up and can only fog for 30 secs per burst. |

QUOTE(upcars @ Aug 24 2021, 12:50 PM) The gun only destroy batteries. The liquid solution u use can or may not kill viruses. Suggestive mentioned chlorine dioxide CLO2. That is effective but just slightly longer time taken. Titanium oxide not kill virus ..it is only meant for self cleaning ...tat also need to be UV activated and water wipe/wash down ..it normally contained in self cleaning paint those for outdoor de where after u paint no mold or dirt will stain it bcos the Uv from sun n rain water will wash it away... Also used in soap to make it white...HOCL also known as hypochlorous acid, a sub of chlorine family, also effective. |
