If other residents complain, then it is JMB job to resolve the complain either by changing the rules or SOP and make sure the updated rules are properly communicated to all the residents.

If you changing the rules without proper documentation, e.g cakap mulut, and the rules are not properly communicated, what you expect other residents to react right?

Honestly I dont mind if the JMB is changing the rules if it is for others safety but it must be properly documented and communicated. Not today you cakap lain, tomorrow you cakap lain just because got complain from others.

condominiums are mostly restricted to own rules and regulations...if you live in one, you'd better get used to it. Honestly it is mostly how they keep things in check and also protect you and your neighbors from further infections. Almost anything will require approval from them...its a simple approval actually...just more paperwork.

Cause KPKT flip flop sop also.

No follow then they kena saman 10k random check.

Pls go kpkb at KPKT website or fb for atensi. Your JMB rather play safe than kena saman.

Internet and power is considered essential. Water filter is not.

COVID is not the issue bro. The issue is why flip flop on the contractor entry. If say can enter, then put SOP and relevant document say can enter. If cannot enter, then put the rules say cannot enter. Dont say today can enter, tomorrow cannot enter.

No wonder we malaysians are being fucked everyday.

Most condo management need 3 items.

1. MITI letter
2. Covid-19 test.
3. Vaccination cert (2 doses or single dose)

If the contractor has all the above, no problems. If none, then they can block them from coming in.

Then they can be refused entry,

On another note, you need to ask your jmb what they deem necessity services. AFAIK water filter is not a necessity since not having it doesn't prevent you from having water.

Just because they also Internet installation doesn't mean they allow water filter installation.
They are not the same thing.

All the JMB here have different opinions to your problem.

Comments can reach page 10, your problem wont be solved and it doesnt matter who is right or wrong.

Some workable solutions are posted and is up to you to do it.

I would have closed this thread and go about the installation.

Yes i agree some residents are unreasonable and are sohai.

But we are discussing about TS water filter installation here.
Clean water not important? FYI some of the highrise in merehsia have terrible water quality.

Besides what would you and the JMB would have decision in TS case?

He asked you to raise empty threat - means no actual law to substantiate it ... this usually works if stay in low cost flat where JMB are those not so educated person.

JMB can impose rules if is supported by majority of residents.
Residents can bring this up during EGM/AGM if there is disagreement and let the majority to vote whether to continue to allow/disallow.

During Covid-19, most condo management will enhance their SOP beyond the government recommendation as we all know it, the government SOP is lame. And majority residents usually are supportive for enhanced SOP.

Broadband service is considered essential but condo is considered as private area so the rules within the condo are by the residents i.e. their JMB/MC.

Cleaning water filter unsure what category this falls under but don't think is considered essential - as people can live without water filter at home.

Well, let say you can really prove broadband service is causing you loss of income and you wanna hire lawyer to sue the JMB, i wonder how long it will take, and can ding dong for few months and both sides need to appear in court. If you loss the case, you still have to pay for the lawyer fees, if you win, JMB can claim the insurance to cover it (yes JMB is covered by insurance for wrong decision that can cause residents money).

The risk is higher on the resident if want to sue the management in court.

The cheaper solution is to get wireless broadband service temporary ... for water, buy mineral water instead while waiting for more stable situation OR to wait for AGM/EGM to raise your concern.
