u seems to suffer the same problem my fren had with his 1 year old vios g 2007. if i remember correctly it's the wheel assembly problem. heard his 1 needs to take off even the break assembly n realign it to fix the issue. mayb u can ask sa to check for this. heard it's a noise that sounded like "tak tak tak" when u let the car roll without accelerating while u-turn.

mind to share how do they fix it?

didnt check back until today. it took him 2 visit since 1st visit was diverted due to the service center couldn't find the problem. urs is also realigning ur wheel assembly? mine is J manual. i will accelerate a bit during u-turn coz in manual the car wont roll by itself, touch wood so far still ok. anyhow, good to know urs got fixed within 1 day.

You can do sound proofing for your car, by putting sound proof materials in between your car door, engine hood , ceiling and underneath your car, you can reduce wind noise, road noise ,engine noise and also tyre noise from the outside. 

I find that the Factory fitted Bridgestone Potenza RE080 tyre become noisy and noisy when drive on rough road surface.

my vios abit noisy when drove fast. will by doing 4 car doors (3 layers) + front bonnet soundproofing help?

Sometimes it depends on the wind direction also. Meaning on different day, 120kmh got noise, another day at same speed don't got noise.

Yeah agree. A bit like that like. Wind noise sometimes got, sometimes not. I often get compliment from those riding in the car, saying the car is quiet but I usually disagree to them, hehe.

Another noise is the high-pitch whistling sound from your window, suspect there's a gap between window tip and rubber lining.

Road noise? Change to different tire brand lah. Mine will due soon. The stock Bridgestone was OK but not the best. Definitely going for Japanese models. I'm actively watching the threads on tire models and brands.

anyone did sound proofing for their VIOS ??

i had this problem after i sent my car for tinting. bad workmanship caused the soup solvent like chemical slips behind the dashboard. however, i usually will let the windows open when just turn on aircon. received some forward mail saying the 1st bunch of air when u turn on ur aircon is kinda poisonous. but the smell that i m experiencing nvr go away. though nvr try asking toyota to check. only thing i can guess for ur issue is the filter box behind the glove box. it can only happen if condensation happens inside the box.

on a 2nd note, i m quite pissed with the suspension/tyre noise after about a year driving this vios. it feels like my previous 20 year-old corolla. i wonder if this only happens to J or owners of E,G,S also experiencing the same issue.

another 2 problem i m having:
1. feels the front wheel vibrate when braking from about 80~100km/h. not brake as in sudden braking, but normal braking when u go down from slope.
2. some belt is starting to make noise when first start engine in the morning or in the evening.
hvnt go back to toyota coz the problem is intermittent.

i experience both on my 2 week old VIOS J.
- when car idle with air cond turn off -> belt noise is quit obvious ( i assume toyota is using chain belt so the sound should be normal)
- i can easily hear the Tyre noise when driving, the sound reduce 50% when i change to different Tyre (  comparing with stock goodyear GT2 Tyre)

I suspect the sound proofing for the VIOS J is very lousy, because it is not as quiet as the 1st GEN VIOS.
