Hi,
I'm with Maxis Home Fibre 30Mbps.
These days internet keep dropping!Like when listening to some website radio, playback a few songs then stopped for a minute then reconnected again! WiFi hooked up nicely with full bar! Yes even with 5G!

Would Ethernet Cable problem too? Those normal Ethernet Cable sufficient?

Yes sufficient. Try to connect your computer with ethernet cable and see if the same problem occur.

Appreciate your comment!
Yesterday I did a try! I realized that Ethernet Cable from Modem to Router was Cat5. I tried to replaced with Cat5e, unfortunately both couldn't communicate, came with No Internet! When switched back to Cat5, everything back to normal!

What's wrong? Just because of my plan is 30Mbps? Only Cat5 fit? Cat5e for 1000Mbps and above?

I can't test out the Ethernet direct in lately due to computer with no Ethernet port (will get USB adaptor soon).

And, would DNS matter?

Cat5E or even Cat6 will work. Is the cable broken? If you are just talking about Wifi drop then DNS doesn't matter. But I always will change to google DNS or other DNS than the ISP default, which I'm not sure if you can do that in the Maxis default router.

** I think the Cat5e is in good condition! Cause, 1 of it stayed connected with Powerline/Extension, and it's working!

** I always use Cloudflare DNS

So, what's wrong with my WiFi connection?!

Could be the router. If you have a spare router go give it a shot.

I was just figured out! Cat5e only be able to use on Modem's port 1 & 2! 3 & 4 no response at all! Cat5 can be use for port 1-4!

There is no such thing. If your area uses TM's infra, Maxis fibre will usually use port 2 on the BTU. Port 1 is strictly reserve for Unifi.

Strange ya! So I shall stick on Port 2 (on Modem)?
Btw, cable replacement (phone & Ethernet cable)not much improvement! Whether the visited site matter?

Depending on infra you either use port 1 or 2 (maxis or TM respectively)

3 and 4 are unused in this case.

The CAT version should have no affect on it.

Just now did a tried of Olympics Streaming, Badminton! Unfortunately, still lagging!

Does visited site party server matter too in this case? In fact, when speed test, no issue, satisfied! Headache

Watching olympics?
Hmm, yeah if there's a lot of people watching and it's a small server it can be overloaded.
(try something legal)

With that said speedtest isnt very accurate as it tests to local server, not to outside.

So, 30Mbps should more than enough for YouTube, Web Radio playing, files download from Google Drive (1-2GB) ?

Still, if there's 4-5 devices connected to the same router, sufficient? (No gaming)

what you are saying doesn't make sense.

if both cat5, cat5e cable are good .. the connection should work . cos the electrical connection at the RJ plug is the same 100%.
the only difference is the better quality cable on cat5e. hence can handle a higher bandwidth.

from your tests .. can conclude something is wrong / a fault somewhere.

for internet dropping ...
the chief suspect is the router.
test with lap top via lan connect to check the internet stability .

As bad as my situation? Where is your area? Condo? What's your Data Plan? Which Router from Maxis?

These few days I contacted them via Twitter, response very fast! You may try, let's give them pressure!

They mentioned WIFI 6 Router only ready for new contact client! I told them not fair to us, the faithful customer!

You may try Maxis App to "Test My Home Wifi" for optimization! It does improve but issue remaining, just drop less! They open case for investigation! I keep Twitter update them picture & videos when I was facing loading page or error caused by that internet dropped issue!
