Finding a laptop for freelance work within rm3.5k

Currently looking at i5, rtx 3050, ssd500gb and 16gb ram
https://www.dell.com/en-my/shop/cty/dell-g1...p/hng55201000my

Priority: Battery life, durability, service, and performance.

Any other better recommendation?

Personally I don't recommend Dell except for its XPS high end model or real business model.

I prefer HP or Lenovo.

May I know the reasons and what specific models of HP or Lenovo brands you recommend within rm3.5k?

Currently looking at i5, rtx 3050, ssd500gb and 16gb ram

Sorry I do not have a specific model to recommend.

You can just search online store and sort by price high to low or limit the range of price.

Get a model you like then search for review.

For RAM most laptop can be upgrade so don't limit yourself to the model with exact RAM capacity. Look for the maximum RAM it can support.

Another thing to consider is the screen. This you will have to see yourself at the physical device so it is better if you can take some time and go to lowyat to check out the model you want.

You can look for other brand no problem, that's just my personal preference.

Hi Sifus,

Budget with 2.5k can get a laptop that can play games such as valorant?

Asking for a friend.
*
This is the minimum spec requirement. Look for the 60 FPS column
https://support-valorant.riotgames.com/hc/e...mended-PC-Specs

I would add also minimum 16GB RAM and SSD.

hi all!

Would need recommendation for laptop. Use for work.

Budget range? 3- 4k
Specific use? - daily Microsoft office work, web browsing
Specific brand? - ASUS or Apple
Screen size? - 13 inch , max 14 inch
Weight and portability? - light and long battery life

Previously use ASUS UX331U but having problem, don’t want to spend rm6xx or more to repair. thinking to find a new laptop similar. Thinking of ASUS Zenbook/Expertbook or MacBook Air
*
If you don't do complex excel then Apple should be fine and longer battery life too.

MF is lower tier than KF so it is either similar or worst.

Acer Nitro 5 usually get a good review. Maybe try checking it out with same or better CPU with RTX 3060.

Saw this in Shopee: https://shp.ee/ihtwb8d

In terms of price and specs, any other better options other than Nitro 5? Im actually using Nitro 5 AN515-54 i7-9750H GTX1650 rn, bought it with roughly slightly more than 5k during early year 2020 in Sunway Pyramid mad.gif
Didn't know much about laptop by that time, after getting know more bout specs found out macam kena tipu by the Acer ah neh  ranting.gif
*
That year everything computer related is in the highest price ever due to COVID.

Why go to Sunway Pyramid when MRT is very convenient to reach Plaza Lowyat? More competition = better price.

Acer looks like the best bang for buck. Go down to Plaza Lowyat and check out other model in person better. You can't tell the built quality and screen online.

Easier if you do some research and give us a shortlist of model you are interest with.

For good support, go for Dell, HP, and Lenovo.

1. Budget : <RM5k
2. Usage : for old man - watch youtube, trade stock market - nothing graphic intensive
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : at least 14" will be good, *requires touch screen*, light weight if possible, good hinge would be good.

his old laptop lasted for more than 7 years.
*
For touch screen, check out the Lenovo Yoga series. Any spec of it will fit your requirement.

You can also check out other brand for similar folding capability.

Budget: 6K
Usage: for old man - excel, sometimes youtube. i think i will play pubg and battlebit once in a while when outstation.
requirements: fast screen. light weight if possible.

im eyeing legion slim 5 (16'', gen 8)

currently using HP laptop since 2019. can feel it sluggish even having trouble viewing youtube videos.bat also problem..
*
Legion slim 5 (16'', gen 8) should fit your needs.

A 2019 laptop should not feel sluggish on YouTube video playback. YouTube user interface maybe because it is quite heavy.

Curious what's the performance difference between the AMD and intel chip for the Yoga 7 (gen 8)

Someone also recommended Illegear Ionic Touch. Wonder how this would also fair against newer models.

For your requirement, you won't feel a different.
