Hi all,

Is Ryzen 5 (5500U/5600U) better than Intel i5 (1135G7) in terms of multitasking?

The notebook I’m looking for is purely for work (needs to run multiple softwares at any one time) and if possible, lasts for the next 5 years or more.

On a typical day, word, excel, PowerPoint (with heavy animations), other document editing files and Zoom (with screen sharing and audio sharing) will be running at the same time, currently 2017 i3 is lagging a lot especially when screen sharing on zoom has started.

Example of work situation (all running at same time)
Word to record meeting minutes, excel to update and calculate financial report (typically 200-400 rows, 7-10 tabs with multi cell connected numbers), PowerPoint to present (heavy animations), zoom to share screen of all 3 software (constant window swapping back and forth), share video (with audio playing) and sometimes edit files in real time on Google Drive (running with all other mentioned apps).

I’m allowed to spend 3k or less for such a notebook, any recommendation is highly appreciated too!

Thanks for the reply. Went to Low Yat yesterday and was disappointed that many of the stores pushed Intel, saying higher clock speed is better for multitasking. Came here for clarification.
