I tried but I reverted to an older WPS version because it was more familiar (and I had already blocked its online 'features').

Problem is formatting and compatibility when you deal with other companies that use MS Office. But for day to day use (most people), libreoffice + google docs is more than enough.

Tried several times in career for several companies, even as recent as last year, always revert back to Microsoft Office.

Layout lari, some functions not working, many formulas need redo for complex Excel…

I think Libre is suitable for simple use by students n personal use for open projects

I know FOSS has wikis and guides, but having loads of answered question along with multiple sites with easily accessible guides relating to microsoft office product helps a lot, since they are more likely to just search for "how do I freeze column in excel" or "how do I freeze column in excel 2014/2016/2077" instead of "how do I freeze column in openoffice excel" or "how do I freeze column in microsoft office excel".

I speak from experience here, top management wanted to save cost, so there was a trial on a small department ran with the management insisting everyone can just google if any issue, ended up a lot of issues with functions that unique to either the open office suite, or outright broken when our client receives the document and opens with a normal MS office (the biggest deal breaker).

TS, if you are interested, maybe recommend LibreOffice + Google Docs to management.

LibreOffice for those offline situations or when somebody doesn't like the google docs interface.

LibreOffice for Windows can now save directly into google drive. Just save as a doc or xls file and you should not have much compatibility issues when opening the file in Google Docs.

First time I joined my company and I was greeted by open office. And it isn't even the latest updated one!

Truly it affects day to day tasks lol.

The moments when it suddenly crashes ughhhh.

Taking about IR4.0 but even the basics is years backward.

Offcie365 must be the industry standard!

Open office not nice ler.
Everytime open words/excel file with picture or logo etc, the alignment goes haywire, need to fix it manually.

Any companies that use this crappy open office, WPS, Libre Office, man i would avoid them like a plague.

Penny wise, but pound foolish.

It doesn't worth it using free stuff, but in the end more problem down the road, compatibility la, functionality la. All the complexity and functionality in excel that professionals use daily? Very limited or none of them in these free apps.

I love open source, i use both Windows and Linux daily. But nobody can beat Microsoft Office at this. It's the standard of the business world.
