Seriously:
QUOTE(motortrader.com)
While it is the same 1.6-litre engine as the Gen2, there is a difference in the programming of Transmission Control Unit (TCU) of the 4-speed automatic transmission which, like the manual transmission, is supplied by Mitsubishi Motors) which makes a difference to the driving characteristics by improving low-end acceleration, one of the major criticisms of the engine. Due to the absence of CPS, the engineers could not tune the engine to develop enough torque at the low end of the rpm range so the Gen2 has been sluggish around town.

PROTON has had a presence in Singapore since 1989, through an independent multi-franchise operator. Subsequently, PROTON Singapore was set up in 2003 to further improve operations and service level for its customers. Since 1989, more than 22,000 PROTON cars have been sold in Singapore.

Powered by the improved 1.6 Campro engine, the Persona holds promise of smooth drivability and ride comfort. It also boasts of fuel economy that is very competitive in the 1600 cc segment.

"We are optimistic of the Persona's performance in this market.  The introduction of the Persona in Singapore will also offer the customers more options with regard to high quality cars at competitive prices.  PROTON will continue to improve its product quality and make every effort in introducing more new models to the market," said Mohammed Azlan.

i almost terpesona with the proton persona.  end up buying a souped up 'tame looking' ah beng style 2 years old wira se fully converted to evo minus the big spoiler instead  doh.gif
after all, i can't bring myself to mess up a new persona  laugh.gif

9.x L / 100Km isn't so petrol friendly. honda city can go well over twice of that figure  cool2.gif
test drove the manual persona last month. maybe should wait until the camxpro engine further enhanced. personally, i don't like a car with lousy low end torque  whistling.gif
*
Walao...18.XX L/100KM is considered good?? sweat.gif

And pls la~ Don't compare an apple to an orange.. doh.gif

It all depends on driver, so very hard to tell..
Persona is said to have new TCU, so is said to have better FC than Gen2.. whistling.gif
