Based on my understanding after googling the related topics in this forum, the comparison of Year-End Car vs. Early-Next-Year Car is that, Year-End Car will have a better price promotion. However, I'm not sure if this applies to CKD car or foreign car. Is this also applicable regardless the brands of car?

I'm eyeing a Mazda CX-5, am leaning to buy at this Year-End if got sale. Thanks for advice =)

I refuse to buy year end car before. wait for 4 month due to new year manufacturer year usually start at february..

Reason I refuse year end car is, it will depreciate more and I plan to sell it after 5 years.

But, fast forward, Did not sell it, after 5 year, add new car without selling the car.lol.

My answer is, just take the year end lor. u did not know the future.

company buy - don't care, as long got stock just take.

personal buy - ownership more than 5 years take year end model or new year but last year's stock, will have discount to offset the depreciation. Also discount applies to all brands and models. Whether that model is high demand or not also plays apart whether you can get year end model.

Mazda CX-5? You're better off buying an early next year car as Mazda isn't into giving out discounts all that much especially on the CX-5.

In the past (I'm not sure if this is still the case) it used to be common that year end cars will have big discounts and even bigger discounts if you buy a previous year model car early in the year. Sometimes these cars would be pre-registered as well.

However something to remember when buying such cars, if you buy a car in December should you trade in in January the car will be considered as old as any other car from the previous year so it will be something to take into account as if it's on a loan there's the negative equity issue to keep in mind if you don't get a good discount on the purchase price.

Mazda Malaysia usually selling registered car to give more rebate during year end or early year, this is not done publicly and usually only by request. Thus you can see why some 2nd car dealer can sell 1 or 2 year old Mazda (Registered) at their place usually in bulk, Mazda prefer to give discount to mass purchase and sell it to 2nd car dealers. They are tying to prevent direct owners getting high discount to reduce the rumors or dissatisfactory price cutting news in owners group and also a way to control 2nd market price. But indirectly also give 2nd car dealer more money to earn...
