Yes, circle hook is meant to be thin and strong. It's to penetrate the lip of the fish when the fish decided to take a run. This will initiate the auto-hookup. The use of circle hook.

The leader mono is to absorb the shock given by the fish when it strikes.

Without shock leader, your main line is most likely to snap in the strike.

Use FG knot for leader to mainline. If not knowing how, either you can see Bro Ice's illustration or use albright(easy - knot strength slightly lower) or use your regular method knots.

Wish that i can show you how to do jigging but this round we will be on different boat. I'll show you when we go to Linggi
