Bro Q,
Yes, circle hook is meant to be thin and strong. It's to penetrate the lip of the fish when the fish decided to take a run. This will initiate the auto-hookup. The use of circle hook. smile.gif

Unlike jigging hooks, as soon as the fish strikes the lure and start peeling off lines, we will be striking at the other end of the line as well. It's thickness is for much bigger fishes...in case they struck a smaller jigs.

here are a couple of pics of the hooks i bought for the sails ... takuts not trong enuff only coz looks thinner than the jig jig hooks
its what the chinese call SUICIDE HOOKS ... no striking required ..
still got time to buy today if required .. but it is written on the packaging high carbon laa ..
got the numbers 9354 and words hosoji-mutsu .. brand MARUTO
i bought sizes 22 and 20 coz they look closest to the conventional 4/0 5/0 we use ..

Bro Nico,

Was informed by bro Ken Yong that you can purchase live prawns at the chalet itself. So you need not bring live well from KL - Merchong
