Ps5 intermittent black screen during gameplay

Hi, is anyone else having an issue during gameplay where the screen goes black for a second (but audio is still running) and then it returns back normaly. It happen intermittently maybe once in 2-3 hours sometimes it happens twice in an hour and it times it only happens after a few days. It is really intermittent. I am using a 4k Lg tv. i never had this issue until recently maybe like 2 weeks ago. I had the console for about 3 months now.

Some key points :

1. Using default hdmi cable that was given
2. Using the default settings, already tried adjusting the video transfer rate, turning off hdcp. it didnt work.
3. I think this only started happening after the recent software update.

Any possible solution?

Thank you.

Change the hdmi cable and try

Use hdmi 2.1 man

Or use a different hdmi port on the tv

Thanks for the suggestion. I would try using a different cable to see if it solves the issues. Tried changing the hdmi port before does not work either.

Hmm never experience this before, is this happening to all games or certain game(s) only?

Looks like all the games recently. Not sure why i will try a new cable. Hopefully that solves it.

Never experienced this. My PS5 also update to latest firmware once it is available to download.

It is 70UK6540PTA, however i do not think it is the TV cause it was working fine for almost 3 months and previously i had a ps4 pro and did not encounter similar issue.

This is most likely a cable issue, yes passive cables can develop faults over time too.

It's highly unlikely, but the other possibility is the HDMI controller on the PS5 or TV may also start to develop faults.

most probably hdmi cable issues
if still have issues, check your TV settings..
try to switch on/off hdmi advance settings or HDR and see any difference

TV problem. I have a BenQ fhd monitor which also has the same symptom. Been using for 2 years. Will black out for 1-2 seconds occasionally. Other than that, everything works fine. It didn't bother me so much so I just let it be, although I already kept it in box now since I have changed to a new 4k monitor last month.

Btw, did you try to connect other devices to your TV and see if the same thing happen or not?

Not too sure, if tv problem other hdmi inputs should have similar traits but all other hdmi inputs are okay. i have another tv upstairs will try with that for some time and see if it happens.

Thanks

I see. Well, I hope it's not your PS5 problem. IMO, faulty tv is better than faulty PS5. You can buy a new TV anytime But for PS5, you may need to wait for a very long time for it to be repaired since the supply stocks is affected due to global pandemic.
