yup, b4 i start this kind repeated thread again, i apologize 1st
bcoz i wan solve my prob in this new thread....
hope somebody can give advice or help, i would appreciate it

i'm nw using acer laptop travelmate 284XC, it had been 4years, consider as old...
i done my cleaning job on fan as usually so that laptop wont be so hot~
after i had cleaned it for few times, it works pretty well..

but this time is diff........n still cant find the prob out
Fan had been cleaned , should be no prob as i cleaned it b4
but tis time laptop temperature still hvnt improved yet

when i watched movie at laptop, the fan run fast as CPU full load condition if compare wif last time.
after i check my CPU Usage when i play a movie, it show average at 50%
plus if i din lift up bottom side of laptop, the condition is worse bcoz at RAM part is very HOT~

i cant imagine if play any games at this laptop, how hot is it....

so wat the prob? memory n cpu usage is normal, but temperature still remain high, i can feel it at heatsink side.

izzit my laptop old adi, so no way to fix this prob?

When you're talking about cleaning the fans, which fan you cleaned?
The notebook processor's HSF?

Give valid reasons why u said that.
Don't just say something like that just because you're an Intel fanboy.

My old 5 year old laptop extremely hot when i do multi-tasking or watch divx movies, it slows down to an unbearablyspeed. I then sent it for servicing and found out that the CPU heatsink fan inside the laptop was malfunction. I think it's very difficult to clean the laptop heatsink fan yourself...need to send it for professional cleaning i think...

hrm hmm.gif ...tis oso one of the possibility....
coz last time my HSF create unbearrable noise, then i decide to take it out and fix it....
but now i quite sure the air flow (which at heatsink side) is much larger than b4 i clean it....

hmm.gif i oso one of the possibility that is inconsistance ram...
my stock is 256MB RAM (133Mhz) and after i add on 512mb ram (166Mhz),
it run pretty well until b4 this prob occur, so izzit possible cause the heat by inconsistance ram?

After you've taken out the CPU heatsink fan, did you apply Thermal Interface Material A.K.A. Thermal Paste in between the CPU core and the HSF base?
