I made food to deliver to my inlaw house.
i ordered lalamove to deliver the food.
upon reaching, the driver asks if this is non-halal food. irked by the question, i said yes because we are chinese family so most of our stuff probably non-halal anyway.
then the driver refused to deliver the item and ask me to cancel it.
so i click "change driver" and another driver also come and ask the same question and i said yes is non-halal and BAM, rejected.
in the end i chat with lalamove and they cancelled the order for me and i recreate new one with remark "deliver non halal food".
this time a chinese motor came and deliver for me without much hassle.

so now i know, whenever i need to use lalamove i will state this is non-halal item regardless whether it is halal or not

I order beer from shopee, they never asked halal or not.

They got seperate bag for halal n non halal. Rider also got seperate halal and non halal accounts which rider can opt in or change any time

It’s not the company policy but the choice of the rider. For grabfood and food panda, they have halal and non halal delivery riders. Interestingly, many non halal riders are malay too…can see them waiting to collect food at bak kut teh and char siew siew yuk stalls.

It's fall under syubhah , uncertain action. When it come to this better just avoid it. I quote this from mufti Penang council. Anyway u can just find non rider to send the food.

If thats the case the company should clamp down on the rider.

Since they are not doing it - they are condoning such action by the rider - company unwritten 2nd level standard policy.

Muslim food pandan rider no problem delivering my wantan mee.

I think it’s grey area. You can’t force rider to deliver something thats against their religious belief. What lalamove should do is implement halal/non halal option in their app as well.

Delivery company rider refuse to deliver goods is no wrong to a delivery company.

To me, if a rider refuse to deliver goods, he/she should go back to the company and voice his/her concern/reason and not cancel the customer order.
Company to arrange whatsoever resolution.

Kalau dah jelas benda diharamkan agama atau undang-undang, contoh kau describe "babi 5 ketul" and "wain 5 liter", memang orang Islam tak boleh hantar.

Tapi kalau benda yang vague, e.g. kau minta dia hantar "nasi goreng" atau "aiskrim", tak wajib atas penghantar untuk soal siasat kaji selidik atau babi atau tidak, masak guna lemak babi atau tak, ada guna rum dalam aiskrim raisin atau tidak, maka tak salah untuk dia hantar.

Yes, we get lots of request riders request to change new rider because of non halal. So in future, just put remark non halal food

Soon. Lalamove cannot be choosy. When times are getting desperate, non halal also kena hantar or else no money masuk.

That dai i tapao katsudon jepunese food and saw many Malay grab and food,panda riders waiting to pick up orders ler! Why this knn lala’s riders can’t pick up non halal food?

total wasted about 30mins including waiting both rider to come and reject my parcel due to stupid reason.
meanwhile u can see many malay rider waiting at non-halal restoran no hal pon.
