Hi Guys, its been a while that im active in comp hardware.

Recently brought a 5600x on a Asus B550 A Gaming and cooled with Deepcool Castle 240EX in a CM TD500 Mesh with stock fans.

My idle temp is around 40c+ and light work task is around 60c + while playing on warzone the temp can go as high as 70c+ which i don't feel comfortable in.

So my question is this a bad AIO ? should i upgrade to Arctic Liquid Freeze II 240 or even 360 ? Since i think my case can handle it.

A proper good air cooler will do the better job than AIO , unless you go for custom water cooling build

From what I've heard , its really pretty normal and shouldn't harm your cpu in a long run. Mine is sitting in the 50s with just a few apps running , surfing web and nothing heavy. Cooler is just a Wraith Prism rgb

Yea I had this AIO because of a combo sales . So no choice unless stick with stock cooler which I heard it works for 3600 but not 5600x as the temp would go spike up fast and I didn’t turn on the A/C daytime so room temp is around 30c I would said during the daytime . I think moving air around in hot temp won’t be much ideal then water cooled ?

Ya, I think mine was slightly above average as my room temp I would said probably around 30c? Perhaps improve on air intake at the case would be ideal ? As I’m using the preset fan from cooler master and I can’t find the specification for those fan 😥

The thermal junction for 5600x will max out at 95C.

So your current temperature is very safe.

It's perfectly fine, note that Ryzen chips are designed to utilize as much thermal headroom as possible, and the 7nm process node means high thermal density icon_idea.gif

High temperatures are perfectly normal and should not impact the longevity of the CPU, as long as it is not throttling icon_idea.gif

Ya bro, after some Googling for the pass few day yes I did realise that AMD mentioned it is ‘normal’ to be hot but again just wondering how much colder it can be after swapping this Castle to Arctic liquid freezer II 240mm or 360mm not sure whether it’s worth chasing it . 🤔

You want the lowest temp, set your AIO fans and pump to run max speed all the time, it will get as cold as possible.

360 AIO likely only going to give difference when CPU is full load. Idle and low load no difference.

processor can keep up all this heat, everyone have their own ideal temperature preference meaning during game you must make sure your room keep AC on, your room easily warming up since your GPU also produce a lot of heat than your CPU and everything cramped inside the case can easily reach 80c without noticing and your radiator fan ,GPU fan cranked up like no tmr those noise annoying af

No offense I'm not a fan AIO , I'm old school long time ago I have a custom liquid cooling system but also annoying af when alloy or copper get corroded and Most AIO you can't even see a thing

So those CPU cooler are better choice for me

Yea, true at first I was thinking to go back to Noctua NH-D15 but feel like trying AIO since my old build is doing all air cooled . Anyway thanks for your reply 👍

Max out your pump speed. The radiator fan you can adjust the fan speed curve in your BIOS. My own 360mm AIO i max out both my fan and pump speed. Since the fan im using max out at 1500rpm , its not that noisy anyways. Im using CM H500P Mesh. However my R7 3700X still can spike up to ~60C once a while , running Dota2.

It’s is recommended to run the pump 100% at all time ?

I dont see anything wrong with that. Unless you feel its too noisy. I have 2 Asetek AIO in my rig. 1 for GPU , 1 for CPU. It has been running like this for years.
