Hi all,
Anyone knows any skin specialist around klang valley that is good with skin conditions like allergies or hives? (non-aesthetic)

Been itching for few years on and off, recently it became sort of permanent, only eases when I take meds. I cant live on meds forever and I become tired easily after taking meds. My daily life and sleep is affected.

I went to Ranjit ss15 once, the fella diagnosed me as having both hives and eczema. Consultation was quite short, didnt really bother to explain and just ask me to take the meds (understandable if you look at his queue). Problem was solved once I start taking his meds but few months later same problem again. Went to pharmacy to get the same meds only realised he gave me steroids as well. I just take the non steroid meds after that.

The med works at first, just take for a short period then it will be okay for a while before it comes back again. But lately if I dont take it for two days my body will start itching again.

I am looking for a dermatologist who is good at dealing with eczema etc without simply feeding you steroids again and again, which I realise is what most specialists do. Or should I just take an allergy test instead? Anyone with experience please share thank you icon_question.gif

yeah thats why quite reluctant to go to doctors again, prolly just give me the same meds again
non-steroids like zyrtec and glencet still okay, steroid tablet and cream better not use it too much

perhaps I should change my diet too, but dont think it would be easy to find out the root cause sad.gif

I don't have allergies or hives, I suffer from adult acne for a very long time, but I would like to recommend the dermatologist that I visit.

Try to search for Beaulife Clinic in Bukit Jalil. The doctors are professional with their consultation, customer service is great and they will design treatment specifically for your skin condition.

Hope your condition gets better =)

I can recommend u to go to Dermatology department, HKL.

Diagnosed as enzema from the start and recommended to go to panels as per office (but couldn’t claim anyway). After months of steroid cream many many pills yadda yadda from 2 famous private hospitals for around 6 months, sky high bills, almost biweekly visits pasal it was getting soooo painful and not much improvement at all……..

I just got tired and asked for a referral letter from the last dermatologist I visited, with details, go to nearest KKM for a quick check, then to the specialist building at HKL. Few weeks in and I can already see an improvement, 2 months plus and I’m good. It was mainly moisturizer+steroid cream (can’t remember if got pills n how long) but I’m off all meds for now.

Still going through regular checkups until today to HKL Derm dept every few months, but damn….. it was a Big relief to get it treated PROPERLY.

Choice is yours, but I highly recommend giving it a shot. And it is gov subsidized bills so it’s very affordable.

I can recommend Dr Peter Ch’ng at Gleneagles KL. He’s quite knowledgeable but his fees can be quite pricey. If you have insurance from work, you can get a referral from your GP to see him.

Both my brother and mom went here:
https://www.whatclinic.com/acupuncture/mala...ya/clinic-genga

My brother's eczema cured, and is no longer on steroids.

It's a long healing process.

Just to share a VERY important info:

Please check insurance terms supplied by office. Most can only claim IF you are WARDED only. I couldn’t claim and used monthly medical allowance only (small amount, trust me) because the insurance policy will only take account IF WARDED even if chronic disease treatment (or signed off by employer, who knows). I Donno if that’s standard practice.

That’s why I went to derm dept HKL, and suprise suprise it also showed the best results in the ends.

hard for me to say since I try my best to avoid steroids, even if I take it will be with other non-steroids
Id say non steroids can do the job, but after prolonged use my body has somewhat developed tolerance towards it

I got a few tubes of steroid ointment and a moisturizer. The dermatologist said my eczema was caused by dry skin. So I've also stopped using soap because of that.

My brother was a heavy steroid cream and medicine user man, mostly prescribed by doctors and dermatologists.

He found this clinic
https://m.facebook.com/kelinikgenga/

Course of treatment and medication over a year, at first he suffered horrible steroid withdrawal as his skin condition worsened. But over time, his skin significantly improved and he's much better now (you wouldn't be able to tell if he had any skin condition at all). Treatment is also affordable.

Yeah, oral and topical steroids will have a lasting impact. My brother's skin is basically much healthier than mine now.

The initial withdrawal was really bad, but he stuck to it and persevered. After a year of treatment, much better. His diet and lifestyle also significantly improved.

Depending on how much you use, and how frequent.
You'll only know the impact once you experience the withdrawal. Can be very severe.
