Hello,

I have a 2006 Daihatsu Sirion 1000cc which is the same car with Toyota Passo, Subary Justy and Perodua Myvi. Since this is a popular car in the Asian market I would like to buy some parts that are only available in Malaysia.

Sadly most Malaysian online stores don't ship to Europe can you please suggest some online stores that ship parts to Europe and more precisely in Cyprus ?

I would like to do some preventative maintenance on the car and change the fuel filter since it is 15 years old now:

https://www.tokopedia.com/brandcorp/filter-...247074464865705

Also I have found some nice after market headlights that look very nice:

https://www.eagleeyes-asia.com/products/myv...yr_2009~md_myvi

I can find some parts locally and also I have managed to buy parts from Japan from :

https://www.amayama.com/

and

https://jp-carparts.com/

But both online stores don't sell the fuel filter separately but only as part of the whole fuel assembly which is very expensive and I don't need it since there is nothing wrong with the car.

Thank you
Chris

Hi there..
due to the pandemic outbound shipping (exporting stuff from M'sia) is cost prohibitive.. the shipping alone for a 1kg parcel is already over MYR600 (~USD150).

Perhaps ebay may be a better idea? Or ask your local parts store.. sometimes the filter may be common over different vehicle makes especially those from Daihatsu/Toyota?

Thank you for your quick reply. I have already searched online and locally and I can find ONLY the whole fuel assembly which costs very much and I don't really need it

Hey Chris

I've looked around for you on the local sites that we have for parts, they all don't seem to suggest that they have this filter sold separately. With that said, assuming they are all really sold as an assembly, I would strongly suggest you find an aftermarket fuel pump that you could replace the filter-only in the future. It doesn't seem to be economically viable to replace the whole set at 300+ EUR.

Moving forward, if you know the part number for your fuel pump, do leave it here or drop me a message, let me see if I could help you figure out something from my usual workshop.

Cheers.

Also the one you highlighted is called a fuel sock/in tank fuel filter/fuel strainer. It a generic part that shared with alot of toyota lower CC cars

Denso 952-0006

https://www.ebay.com/itm/190676706787?epid=...JoAAOSwn9VacEcl

Also, you can just add an extra fuel filter under the hood. It ain't that hard/expensive, especially when the car doesn't have a proper one

Hi, you can mod your fuel line to take in normal fuel filter. I drive myvi and the part is sold as whole here as well.

Hi, you can try sourcing for the pump unit itself instead of whole assembly. It should come with the filter

https://shopee.com.my/product/273807120/394...10-1623952706.9

The pump unit is only 10 usd

You need to chat with the sellers and ask them if they can ship to cyprus.

I would also like to find the bumper fog lights, they seem to be able to install with minimum modification and without the need for a new special bump.

Also I am limited only to 3 posts a day so I may not be able to reply to all of you.

Hello, I have completely forgotten to get back to you.

The filter is indeed sold together with the assembly. There is no way to get the filter only. You may want to find an alternative to replace the filter, for example a fuel filter along the line before it goes to the engine.

Why so expensive
Corporate rate
Less than RM200

Didn't know using private individual will cost more

I can't be too sure. The only way to find out is to buy one and compare it with the one you have in your car.

You might as well get the generic fuel pump from Bosch and Denso, they use the similar fuel pump.

The genuine parts are about 15-20 euro each... Don't bother with those less than 6-8 euro.

Seems easy.

As far as I can tell my car does not have any issues and the pump is working fine. I was hoping to just change the filter since the car is 15 years old.
So what is the solution to get the filter ? Because the whole assembly costs 300-4oo euro.

I am just trying to do some preventative maintenance.

Wow. You are so confident that our fuel filter will fit your Sirion. Here in Malaysia , for 2005 Myvi , 90% of the buyers bought the 1.3L variant. K3-VE engine. They run on timing chain.

If yours is a 3 cylinder 1L engine , EJ-VE they run on timing belt.
You better make sure it fits since very likely they use different fuel pump too.

As far as I know my Daihatsu Sirion has the Toyota 1KR-FE engine 1000cc - 3 cylinder with a timing chain.

As I mention previously, its a generic denso that's used in Toyota, daihatsu and other cars utilizing a denso fuel pump.
Further, these types aren't too great and you're better off adding an addition line-in fuel filter in the engine compartment

Even if I add an extra filter, the original filter in the gas tank should be dirty. since it has been there for 15 years.

Are you not able to get the filter removed?

If your primary target is to keep the filter in the fuel tank, I recommend that you switch the entire assembly to an aftermarket one where the filter is replaceable.

The filter is indeed replaceable I have seen videos on YouTube with people removing it and replacing it with a new one. Some just remove it clean it and put it back. The problem is that it is not sold separately and its a marketing choice not a physical limitation

Hi Chris

If it could come apart, then there should be a way to replace 'em. However, even here in Malaysia, there doesn't seem to be any spares for the fuel filter.

Should I come across something I'll let you know. We are under lockdown at this time, some most automotive spare parts dealers are not operating, it's hard to go look around.
