Motorcycles themselves in general are failing. Less and less people riding so it's not surprising. Those who still ride motorcycles in usa do it for the sound of the chugging or 4 cylinder vroom.

costs. it will still cost less for a motorcycle running pure electrics and also more feasible as u cna interchange the batteries quickly and easily.

Emission, Noise and Maintenance.

Emission = already got fuel injection bike, even the carb bike also follow Euro standard

Noise = most 4 stroke bike is much less noise unless you go buy 400cc and above bike. It's not like they are noisier than 2 stroke bike in 80s-90s.

Maintenance = kapchai is king of reliable and king of cheap maintenance. No wonder EX5 is still selling here for more than 30 years already and still preferred.

So yeah E-bike is fail here.

Zero emissions is waay better than anything a gas guzzler could do, the fact that China banned non-electric two-wheelers on the tier 1 cities explains alot

Again, without an exhaust, only road noise from the tyres are emitted.

Brushless - little to no maintenance and the battery is as replaceable as the lead acid that runs on conventional ones.

primarily range is a huge hurdle that's quite hard to over come currently, plus with EV being gearless, it chugs on power on higher speed.

The best case scenario of use would be in cities. Stop & Go traffic are great for any EV since they can do regenerative breaking.

Not to mention the lifetime of an EV is significantly shorter than a HC derived one. If you noticed, the worlds economy slowly moves to subscription based. From Cars to Washing Machines.

Motorcycles are illegal on the highway for both countries.
So there is no sense for motorcycle that have a lot of range and power.

In Malaysia you ride it from KL to PJ battery already kong, cannot return.

nice one are too expensive, cheap one are too crappy, there's no middle ground that can compete with internal combustion one

i’m from motorcycle industry.

the main problem for e bike is the maintenance and after sales service.

1st, we don’t have much training on repairing e-bikes. malaysia foremen are lack of proper training for this sector.

2nd, the spareparts is farking expensive, imagine a e-bike worth 12k, but it’s retail price for original rechargeable battery alone already 4k.

3rd, most of the workshops/factory don’t keep parts for “cold models” like e-bikes. imagine after riding your new e-bike for 1year, suddenly your bike wear-and-tear need to change parts, mostly you need to wait few months to get your parts ready.

china and taiwan are very good in ebike because they doing good in these points i mentioned. parts are cheap, easily to be found in any shop, foremen knowledges on e-bike are sufficient.

I dare the authorities here to ban petrol powered motorcycles at the Klang Valley. I double dare them.

even you sold the bike you will have to clear the loan if you pay in installments. the problem is cold models second value differs very much from brand new.
