i’m from motorcycle industry.

the main problem for e bike is the maintenance and after sales service.

1st, we don’t have much training on repairing e-bikes. malaysia foremen are lack of proper training for this sector.

2nd, the spareparts is farking expensive, imagine a e-bike worth 12k, but it’s retail price for original rechargeable battery alone already 4k.

3rd, most of the workshops/factory don’t keep parts for “cold models” like e-bikes. imagine after riding your new e-bike for 1year, suddenly your bike wear-and-tear need to change parts, mostly you need to wait few months to get your parts ready.

china and taiwan are very good in ebike because they doing good in these points i mentioned. parts are cheap, easily to be found in any shop, foremen knowledges on e-bike are sufficient.

even you sold the bike you will have to clear the loan if you pay in installments. the problem is cold models second value differs very much from brand new.

the customer beginning also super mad to us, then we just gave the sparepart department manager phone number to customer, now he understood the situation and continue waiting for the part.

we also kesian him. and the bike sitting in our workshop and we can’t do shit sigh.

Haiz ...

Back in the days I use to go down south to get parts and item till I get use to them and can order by phone.

You're better off buying it from Taiwan/Itali mang
As I said before, in some countries, government ban Petrol-Powered 2 wheelers in their city.
Not really much a choice by then
