This is the problem man, people always attribute mental illness to gangguan jin. The mental illness possibilities never come cross their mind. Or they are too denial to accept their loved one got mentally ill. Another big reason is mental health awareness is too low in Malaysia.

Saka, santau I know it exists because my relatives experienced it.

Quite painful life for having either one of them, to the point you'll die miserably if not treated.

Other stuff like ghosts, alam sebalik mata is quite hard to believe since some people claim to be able to see it and some exaggerated it for attention.

When I was in school I read Malay novel about saka demon,titled Suangi. I'm not sure about the existence because each race and culture has their own beliefs and pantang larang/good and devil spirits.
But Suangi is great horror book.

Then the bomoh/ustaz need to clarify to their patient that they are the last resort because many of them don't know or have low mental illness awareness. But they don't do that because they compete for the same group of patients

I went there and see how they treat their patient with the same method, holy water and Quran recitement even tho all their patients have different kind of symptoms. I can attribute many of their patient symptoms with mental illness. But those guy never went to hospital due to lack of trust on modern medical method.

You know la the antivaccine, home birth, homeopathy gang die die don't trust modern medicine. When their family got mentally ill, hospital will be their last resort unfortunately.

I do scare of supernatural things, especially after watching a horror movie. But logically, I almost not believe these things exist or even if they do, i still think they don't because i cant see, hear, or taste them. But i do believe in God.
