Hi,

My insurance agent seems to be MIA and seems like someone else is now my so-called ‘agent’.

I’m looking to re-appoint a different agent for my policies.. is it possible?

Thanks for all your replies and inputs, much appreciated.

I called Allianz (my insurance provider) and they said that it's possible and it's as easy as just sending a 'surat rasmi' to them, state the new agent name and agent code and the change will take place in 2 weeks time.

Cheers.

Once your agent MIA (most probably terminated/not continuing with contract), your policy will be taken care by the Manager/Leader of your agent. So anything related with your policy will need to liaise with them even you did not appoint them. Even the commission also will go to them.

You can easily change to new agent by simply sending a letter to the insurance company. However, finding agent who want to be your new agent is another challenge as not many agent want to accept because they will not earn anything from your policy. Only if you take new policy with the new agent then they will earn commission. If u cancel old policy & take new 1  with new agent (same company) also new agent won’t earn any commission

That’s why when to change agent, new agent is hard to find & old agent will find ways to make sure u keep ur policy witth them
Thus finding the right agent to sign up with is very important

Thanks, indeed my policies now went to the team leader of my previous agent.
But I didn't knew that the new agent that I'm going to appoint wouldn't earn a single cent out of my current policies. Is it the same for all insurance providers?

I was under the impression that the commission will be diverted to the new agent.
