Yesterday Xiaomi announced the new Mi TV P1 series will be officially released in Malaysia in June in line with its launch in many other overseas markets such as India, Italy, etc. They would be bringing in the 32", 43" and 55" inch models.







Only the 32-inch Mi TV P1 is being made available exclusively on Lazada and Shopee while other models can still be purchased through Authorized Mi Stores, Senheng, and other official retailers throughout Malaysia.

The RRP announced at Xiaomi FB page is RM2499 for 55", RM1799 for 43" and RM99 for 32" models. There are some pre-order bonuses and freebies on June 6 - Lowyat.net.

Dug up some extra info from mi.com/global website - All tv's come with 60hz refresh rate and viewing angle: 178° (suspect they are IPS panels). The 43" and 55" models have a HDMI 2.1 port that supports eARC/ALLM which is rare among tv's at this price range.

So what do you think about it? Yay or nay?

Was looking for a tv to be used as a computer monitor but looks like it might be an ips panel - generally poor blacks and contrast but great for tv for a big group of people

Nope. If you are looking for this price range, the X75H might not be the best but should be a better choice.

But at least, it supports HDMI 2.1 (E-Arc and ALLM). I don't think any tv in Malaysia at this price range has both these features, let alone even one of them.

So it will still max at 4K @ 60hz YUV422. Do you game with ps5?

Until we get actual reputable reviews, by comparing the specs of the P1 with X75, I think the P1 is heck of a lot more superior and better value for money. The X75 Spec sheet.

Didn't order. Seems like the disruption is reaching far and wide.

I purchased the 55" model on Lazada.

Strange I don't receive the cancellation request from Lazada itself.

But Lazada only sent me the shipping delay notice and RM100 rebate as compensation.

I also get the same email from Lazada.

I decide to wait and submitted the form right after I see EMCO is ending. Great value with the RM100 rebate and RM149 Shopee Coins, hope it will be delivered way before their estimated date

Do you guys need anything tested from me? I received my unit yesterday. I preordered on 6.6.

I purchased 55 P1 for 2499.
~As expected it is using IPS Panel, first time turn on already saw few bleeding spots minor but its there but remind you its a new unit..
~HDR is there, but maybe 200-350 nits as its not so bright so it's easy on eyes.
~Dolby vision is there, netflix certified the 4K, DV, and DS.
~Color accuracy quite good but again its sub 2K TV, I dont care.

~It can play 4k60fps but lagged to the moon (cant play the media after 5 seconds), I suppose it would work fine if it has other input (AppleTV as example).
~PatchWall (their own launcher for TV) do not work in Malaysia as expected, it will prompt you to disable it itself, but I didnt since i found the UI quite good and simple
~It draws 150-195watt when in use, got SIRIM so it's locally certified

So, what else do you guys need me to see? It is literally what you can expect from TV at that price range..

Kinda funny that they deliver the free gifts using other courier, not together with the TV but who care I suppose, as long get the TV.

One thing I noticed is, my kids were watching cartoon yesterday and I saw the video being played was like, I don't know how to exactly describe it, but it's more like lagged or not smooth as it should be.

Checked in Settings and found Motion Smooth was set Standard. Tried the other 2 options (Clear and Smooth) but video had the same problem. Finally turned the thing off and all is good now.

Tried playing 4k and DV content on Disney+ and I can say it's excellent for what it's worth. Sound quality is good.

Chromecast and MiraCast works well.

I'd recommend this as daily TV especially the 43. As far as I know, those who pre-ordered on 6.6 will get RM100 compensation for the late delivery.

Pre-order price was RM1499. Deduct RM100 (compensation) + Shopee coins, final price is around RM1350. I think this is the best one can get at this price.

Yep, on the edges 1 spot on top and a few on the sides, only noticeable if screen is all black (dark scenes or just turned on TV), but who cares, it's IPS common issue.

I got smartplug which tells you how much your appliance consume per w/h or kw/h.

I believe this is the things they tried to replicate crystal UHD by Samsung, but of course its not gonna work (I disabled it cause it is causing some jittery? not sure how to describe but fast animation will looks odd not smooth).

The rest I agree with your point, it's ok for the price.

I kinda want to test hDMI2.1 on this thing, see if its capable playing 4k60, it should I suppose.

Regarding the smart plug, I've actually use those for some time now. I use them to turn spotlights on/off. Mine is able to check the power consumption as well but I don't know why I always feel that the reading is not accurate. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

Regarding Motion Smooth (I believe this is their so called "MEMC"), you are right. It causes jittery in fast scenes/animation. It looks bad when it's turned on. I thought I was the only one but I guess many are facing this as I've seen similar comments about this issue on other reviews.

Well, they are trying to replicate feature that from tv that was in 3-4k price range, with a mediatek processor, always end up with no good. Good effort but Ive known you for so long XiaoMi, can replicate but does it work? Maybe. 😂

Received the P1 43 Inch pre order. No Lazada RM100 rebate yet.
Later I will try disable Motion Smooth. Sometimes felt the screen not smooth.

the digital tv works very well, and apps run a lot smoother than my mi tvbox 4s
hook up with my laptop to test 4k
both my hp omen and surface pro cannot adjust resolution to uhd, just full hd maximum, dunno why
i cant get 4k working well with my jellyfin, will try emby or plex when i got the time to set up
streaming 4k with vlc works somehow, with my eyes i think hdr is working but again i cannot check the quality and spec, but i see my computer does decoding and processing when streaming

The TV by default using HDMI 1.4, maybe because of that.
Try:
Disable CEC
- General Settings, Device Preferences, Inputs, Disable HDMI control
Set HDMI 2.0/2.1
- Need HDMI 2.0/2.1 cable. Plugin HDMI 2 for HDMI 2.1
- After switch inputs to signal source, Press SET button, HDMI mode, Select HDMI 2.0/2.1

I'm using Plex, can play 4K directplay no problem, no need transcode.

False alarm. The screen didn't feel smooth when I use YouTube. MEMC is not enabled when I check settings.
These few days, the screen looks normal already. Probably my WiFi got issue when I first try

Tv support hdr but i think it depends on how it is being played
And what hdr format
If streaming, need compatible app like Disney+ or netflix or youtube to show dobly vision, if using jellyfin native app or kodi, it is just hdr standard
For hdr10, it works regardlessly
However on kodi, cannot unlock 2160p resolution, only 1080p
Dunno how to check on jellyfin
If hook up with my mi tv box s, kodi still cannot do 2160p

Steaming using vlc also do hdr 10, since vlc cannot do dobly vision

If really want to streaming hdr, better in hdr10 format with tv box, if want dobly vision, then need local media, which means downloadong terabytes of media...

Yeah glossy, mine is in non-sunlight area, as against ceiling light, no issue, no reflection from light sources. From sunlight I dont know.

Hi, may i ask if you have received the RM100 rebate as late delivery compensation from Shopee? I received the TV 5th of Aug, but haven't receive my rebate. I chat with the shop agent, seems like they have no idea about this rebate, and say they are checking on that issue...

I decided to cancel the order on the day they updated the tracking number for the order, surprised they still let me cancel. Best to just spam and try to get a different agent, some are really clueless from my experience

I received my rebate finally, took a week. But its here after getting few lazada helpdesk agents involved.

For its price (the pre-order price of RM1499 to be exact), it's worth every penny spent.

I just checked again (12pm, 30th August) and the price in Shopee is RM1599. I'd say this is still is good deal.

However if it's going for the standard retail price of RM1799, then you have other brands to choose from. I guess at this price range, some would suggest to topup a lil bit more and get a more decent brand like Sony.

Picture quality, color reproduction and HDR is excellent but of course higher price brands/models would be better especially for those who are really looking into these things/criteria.

We're in the same boat. I've chatted with the Shop Agent and also Shopee but they can't seem to confirm when we'll get the rebate.

I don't mind receiving it late but what worries me is if we don't get the rebate. The Shop Agent said to wait for email for Xiaomi but I don't know when that'll be. To me it just doesn't make any sense that some of those who pre-ordered in Lazada has already received their rebate.

If you don't mind sharing, is there any specific reason why you decided to cancel the order?

I've tried to get few agents involved in Shopee but to no avail.

I thought of getting 2 32" 1440p 144hz monitor mainly to upgrade my aging monitor for PC and my XSX could run at 1440p 120hz. While PS5 would have to drop to 1080p 120hz due to the lack of 1440p support, no big deal since I mainly play competitive game on Xbox anyway.

Then I saw the 43" P1 preorder price couple with the 10% coin cashback, couldn't really resist the great deal. The initial plan was to play competitive games on the monitor and laid back cinematic games on the TV. Decided to get one monitor first to see how this model performs while waiting for the P1 preorder date.

Then comes the long wait after ordering, during that time I still can't get over the backlight bleed however minor that are inevitable in my dark room. Get poisoned by reviews and other people, decided to fuck it and get LG 48" C1.

Yea, that is the problem. From the previous message, I saw Lazada pre-order customers actually received an email regarding the compensation, but in Shopee if I remember correctly, it is just a notification that appeared inside the app, when I saw that notification, I am too happy that I could receive a rebate as a compensation, so I filled it up and submit it quick without taking any screenshot. After filling it up the notification disappeared, and now I am empty handed without any proofs to Shopee that I have chose to continue the order rather than cancel. Not sure what to do next. Its almost a month now since I got my TV.

And worst of all, I have requested softcopy invoice from them 3 times since 6th Aug, and until now I did not receive anything. Very fed-up with Shopee E-mart Customer Service, probably the first and last purchase from them.

Update, I have received my compensation from Shopee on 10.09.2021 finally. Unfortunately unlike Lazada that credit to your Lazada Wallet, its a single RM100 voucher, means you have to buy something to use that voucher for discount lol...

Same. I've received mine as well same as yours.

However I don't agree to the voucher as in the form that we filled, it was clearly stated that the compensation will be credited into ShopeePay. ShopeePay is the same as the Lazada Wallet.

It doesn't make any sense for them to not honor their agreement. It also doesn't make any sense that Lazada actually credited the compensation in Lazada Wallet. The same should apply to Shopee.

The issue seems to be with Shopee. They have twisted their story a few times with me now hence I'm not gonna leave it as it is.

hi, can mi tv p1 55 user confirm that some scene example 0:44 to 0:56 whole middle right mountain like this video would have a little flashing, it doesnt happen to other monitor, happen to Motion Smooth Standard and Off.

just tried it with HDMI input from PC, the little flashing still happen, but smaller scale, while playing this video with smart tv own CPU GPU SoC would have alittle bigger flashing.

just find out mi tv p1 55 (not sure about other model) support 2560 x 1440 120hz with hdmi 2.1 eARC cable, and google search show that the only place talk about it was youtube comment around 2 years ago from a malay guy.
