I thought PS5 comes with compatible HDMI 2.1 cable..
https://www.kitguru.net/gaming/mustafa-mahm...wing-confusion/ Look for certified ultra high speed cable - 48Gbps.. >> https://www.hdmi.org/spec21sub/ultrahighspeedcable >> https://www.howtogeek.com/703147/how-to-avo...hdmi-2.1-cable/ Brands like belkin, Monoprice, Zeskit, AudioQuest but they are quite expensive.. Question: Do I need same 4K 18Gbps HDMI cable to connect from 4K Blu-ray player to Receiver/Amplifier, and from there also similar HDMI 4K 18Gbps to TV?

QUOTE(juzmafia @ May 16 2021, 02:48 PM) I thought PS5 comes with compatible HDMI 2.1 cable.. https://www.kitguru.net/gaming/mustafa-mahm...wing-confusion/ Vincent Teoh on YouTube ran tests. As of November 21, 2020 when that video was uploaded, the PS5's HDMI output is maxed at 32 Gbps with YCBR output of 4:2:2, at BT.2020 color space and pixel bit depth of 12 bits. The HDMI cable that comes with the PS5 is maxed at 40 Gbps. So please use that cable. Even though the Ultra High Speed HDMI cable maxes at 48 Gbps, 40 Gbps is plenty. QUOTE Look for certified ultra high speed cable - 48Gbps.. >> https://www.hdmi.org/spec21sub/ultrahighspeedcable >> https://www.howtogeek.com/703147/how-to-avo...hdmi-2.1-cable/ Brands like belkin, Monoprice, Zeskit, AudioQuest but they are quite expensive.. Monoprice is certainly not expensive. At 3 feet or about a meter, they cost between $13-19 or between RM54-79. The HDMI Licensing Adminstrator has an app to verify, via the QR on the packaging, if the cable you are looking at is Ultra High Speed certified. QUOTE(GuyB @ Jul 8 2021, 12:39 PM) Question: Do I need same 4K 18Gbps HDMI cable to connect from 4K Blu-ray player to Receiver/Amplifier, and from there also similar HDMI 4K 18Gbps to TV? Yes but only because you want consistency in cabling. When troubleshooting, you just want to test HDMI ports and cables. You don't want to waste time testing different HDMI cable ratings. You just want to see if the cable is good or not. 18 Gbps audio and video signal (from 4K UHD BD player) -> Receiver (Processes 6 Gbps of TrueHD/HDMA audio) -> 12 Gbps for 4K video to TV (plus Dolby Digital stereo) At the very least you want two Ultra/High Speed (2.1 @ 48 Gbps or 2.0 @ 18 Gbps) cables. One between the 8K/4K TV and the 8K/4K receiver and the other between the receiver and the 8K/4K source. 4K sources can just use High Speed (2.0) cables for 4K video with HDR metadata. DVD players can just use HDMI 1.3. This post has been edited by writesimply: Jul 8 2021, 08:21 PM GuyB liked this post

you dont need hdmi 2.1 cable... You just need hdmi 2.0 cable. V2.1 vs 2.0 has very significant price different.
The difference between those cable, v2.1 supports 8K display. While hdmi cable 2.0 supports 4k60fps display, with 18Gbps bandwidth. |
