realiased that new sony tv has very good media player that can play most of the video files even at 4k resolution very well. and it allows to select different audio track as well as subtitle available.
the most suprised part is that it even supports the selection of .srt file to be used as the currently played video and even .srt filename does not match the filename of the video file.
thumb up on this.
this saves the trouble of using my macbook to play the video on the tv via hdmi port.
probably will prepare a usb port extension cable, that i can plug in/out from/to the extension port instead of to the usb port on the tv directly. this can potentially reduce the wear and tear to the usb port on the tv or prevent scratches. haha.
Yea, keeping my eye out for good deals for OLED but a lot of current options are 6k+ so over my max budget I've been saving for awhile and my current TV has black lines. The guy who got the A80J for RM5k got it from HArvey Norman, but I think it either sold out or it was in-store promo because couldn't find it on their website. Currently looking at the A90k RM4-4.3k on shopee. Still got a few months to go before I pull the trigger so hopefully good stuff pops up for like Merdeka sales or something haha.
The PQ setting out of the box is good enough IMO. I only changed the sound setting and uninstall some useless apps. BTW, how much did you get your X90K?
Got it for RM5299 65".
So far I only turn off motionflow and set the brightness to 30.
Hopefully this TV does not consume a lot of energy.
