i have driven my uncle's brand new toyota vios 2007 and comparing it to my aunt's old vios, it handles pretty smoothly even with lack of ABS compared to Honda cars. climbing a steep hill is not a problem coz VVTI tends to keep up the speed with it.

of beauty, front looks like a Yaris while the rear end looks like a brand new camry (almost lah). with a weekend car plate number driving along USJ, subang jaya, PJ and shah alam. i can see jealous eyes staring at me.. haha..

How was the steering and body roll response when you whacked during the entry of a corner/curve ?

High speed stability is simply stunning for a car this size ( I drove my mum's, top range model). You'll be unconciously speeding most of the time. Bodyroll is at a minimum, despite a higher centre of gravity. Similiar to a Honda City, if not slightly better. Electric steering wheel makes handling feel numb, but somewhat effective. The thick A pillars made it a challenge to hit the apex of every corner. As for the rear, I like the minimum headroom. This is to reduce the impact to the head when it hits the panel (very thick and effective panels). One thing I didn't favour much towards this car was the 'plasticky' steering wheel. A/C is vey cold, control knobs feels good, seats offrs much grip (for this class lah...). I luve the sound system tho,2 front 2 rear but what I like most is the effective mounting position and assembly at the front door where lots of bass can be produced ( I was surprised!)

Owh I meant the headroom at the rear. Leaning against the pillars can put you to sleep tongue.gif BTW I also like the low and sweeping windows. Hood is quite short BTW

Anyway, hows the interior inside this new vios?? issit big? Any additional accesories compared to the previous ones? Whats msia market price? Anyone knows??? Ohya, it seems faster from the previous ones. old vios way slower than city. ehww.. the new ones, track up speed really fast. Hows the fuel consumption???

FC is standard by today's standards (average arouund 16-20km/l). Interior space about the same, but losts of it up front. Additional accesories, pretty much the same. More hidden cupholders tho (nicely hidden). In Brunei most of the cars that will be overtaking u on the highway are Subarus, Cefiros and Vios' (yup they make you go fast). At 80km/h engine speed is at 2000rpm, 4th (auto)

ya with the bodykit looks ok, without it, it looks like its competing with the city on who is the uglier goldfish... doh.gif

All because the front part is just too...bubbly? The design might work on a big car like the new Camry but definitely not on a small car like vios/yaris sedan. Just my 2 cents...

ok guys, i've got good news for every1.

according to inside info from UMW (*not a very new info actually), Toyota Vios will not be taking further bookings from now on. All models will be sold out and that's it (*currently).

1) New Toyota Vios Replacement will be released on Dec `07 BUT under a new name. (*unconfirmed as to which model)

2) Model price will be over Rm100k OTR (*yet unconfirm which model is this refered to, as i wasn't told)

*YES, THERE'S 2 MODELS GOING TO BE LAUNCHED, BUT NOT THAT SOON. As i said that its unconfirmed the price belongs to which model, is because there's 2 model being introduced, the new 2008 Vios replacement, and enw 2008 Altis replacement.

**Supporting facts, is that currently UMW Malaysia is doing a stock cleaning. Vios is going for a low Rm70k OTR price with discounts incl., while Altis is getting new features like bodykits and leather seats to clear stock. Whether there will be any discounts for Altis right now, i don't know. Better ask your nearest SA.

Hope everyone likes this news. icon_rolleyes.gif

Over RM100K for this Vios is ridiculous!!!!!!! So what? EBD and ABS are compulsory these days (to the MTV generation lar ~) Personally I thinkIt should be below RM85K range, because there's nothing special about this car!

like i said, if you read carefully, i didn't confirm the Rm100k price for this Vios 2008. MOst probably it would be for the new altis replacement. cause i was only given 1 price, and it didnt specific on which model, either Vios or Altis. sweat.gif
