yup it should have last >10 years.. to be frank i like their gb.. it's one of the smooth, responsive & smart gb that i have driven.. AISIN gb is not close. but the policy from JPN Mazda is killing it. Having regular check will help to solve a lot of prob before it become disaster..

My 3 years old honda city hybrid says only change DCT gear oil at 160,000km. Now i am only clocked in at 50,000km.

I change mine every 40k kms. Its 80K km++ now and I have already changed the ATF twice and ATF strainer once. At 40k Kms, the Mazda Skyactiv ATF FZ has turned to black from liquid blue.

i think the same alasan used for people who dont like running or jogging too. personally i have broke my right leg ankle joint before due to jump to lopak air, but it somewhat fixed by walking alot more.

The ATF life is the same as your gearbox life. If something happened to the gearbox, means you need to change ATF together. So if your gearbox kong after driving 5 years, means that is the life of your ATF. Depends on the damage, need to replace some parts/whole gearbox to get it running again. Open gearbox = change ATF.

This is lifelong/lifetime ATF definition.

insuring it for only 5 years is too short, especially for people that doesn't drive it far
at the end, it's the customer that need to pay it out of their pocket

plus if u change the ATF outside, you're only voiding the warranty for the transmission, not the whole car

i mean follow the others rival, all are with 5 years warranty. but all with unlimited mileage. their seal for life atf is kinda shocked though. some experienced the gb jerkiness/problem mostly around 110k km onwards. that time Bermaz already cuci tangan.

in m6 forum, car club, owner who done atf change, only atf change per 50k or 60k, their gb still work good after 100k km mileage

I agree, there's no such thing as seal for life ATF, but it does leave a massive sore point about the whole buying a new car experience when i have to knowingly void the warranty just so for upkeep.

So much for Japanese reliability!

yes. the manual said seal for life, so sc won't entertain to change it. i know some got change it after dealing with sc technician and paid for that.

We rented a CX-5 from Socar before. The transmission was in pretty bad shape....rough shifts, jerks etc.

After change still got warranty?

Yes , its meant to last through warranty period. Overseas they change their cars every 3- 5 years plus with the weather here it's better you get it changed.

for atf change, especially using those sucking machines, it will not have any trace on it. then fill up back a fresh atf. for atf filter, rarely people change it for less than 100k km. so on warranty, it doesn't leave any trace on it hence still valid. They are some owners change the Atf at SC by dealing with a technician to perform it but of record.
