Every now n then when close to public holiday, I have this unit 4 floors above me would drag the chair late at night.

So loud feels like earthquake.

I asked guard to notify the person not to drag the chair but the more guard notify the more this stubborn person drag the chair

Now I go to Maintenance Office, they say they would talk to them.

But to date still got chair dragging.

May I know what other avenue I have to resolve this ?

Cannot relate since not staying in high rise. But wow 4 floors above and still can create so much noise to you? Tried to ask all the tenants 3 floors above you to go complain and pressure the management together?

In Singapore, a police report might work, but not sure about here.

This topic have been discussed here many times.

The answers are about the same from forumers who have replied.

In short ... No solution for inconsiderate neighbours .... highrise and landed .... same same only.

The more you tell him, the more frequent he retaliate.

Bang his door with the rest of your disgruntled neighbors. Are you sure it's four levels above, though?

If you look and read the other threads, a lot of people, including myself, are facing the same issue. Either confront that neigbor, keep sending complaints to management and security, file a police report or if the worse comes to worst, retaliate.

Yeah if can hear from 4 unit above quite suspicious already. If teenants above TS cant hear shit, then really fuck up..

believe it or not the same thing happened in my building block.

almost every day, my neighbor living on the ground floor complained his upper house (first floor) is very very noisy. it started at 12am until 4am. the sound is as you described but with additional stomping (more like marching)

and as you can guess, both the houses above my neighbor's floor are empty and damaged(windows, sliding door all stolen)

we sometime find middle school kids piaping/getting high at the empty house.

the management can't solve this problem because well, it is out of context.

problem is 1st floor above me - no one
2nd floor above me - is single lady, she just move her room elsewhere to avoid
3rd floor above me - the couple with no kids always go back home at 4 am
4rd floor above me - no idea who but at night no light turn on
5th floor above me - this asshole light always turn on

I wish i can knock the door and take the sharp end of a wooden stool and slam it in that fella's face.

landed also got people karaoke at 12 midnight yo.
there is no guarantee of landed sure ok one.

I stay at high-rise. I can understand if the neighbour directly above you makes noise, but 4 floors above? Can you even hear it if they really drag their furniture?

I take the lift down to lobby then walk out the road in middle of shivering cold to see which unit light is on.

sometimes I take the staircase, walk 6 floors up and wait by the side of the door for sound.

Damn, this is really shit soundproofing then. On my end, the noisy troublemakers are my immediate neighbors living next door ans upstairs. Cibais all of them, but I reserve most of my hate towards the upstairs neighbor for being evil and letting his kids stomp late at night. Have you tried confronting that neighbor? Go with the guard next time.

Does that work? I use a thick plastic broom to hit the ceiling sometimes. Not sure if they can even hear it because the kid will continue stomping even late at night.

It's not people dragging furniture.

Something to do with pipes and structure contracting due to drop in temperature at night.

I thought that causes the kid play guli kind of noise, instead of furniture dragging noise

Common noises are furniture dragging, guli dropping, door slamming.

Definitely not supernatural or your neighbours being arses.

I have stayed at the second highest floor and can frequently hear the people walking upstairs like an elephant, stomping up and down....Seriously, people don't know how to walk gracefully and elegantly anymore.

yes you can use a 2 by 4 wood to slam the ceiling but this may irk other floors above you, and they may retaliate by dragging more chairs, then you will have to fight more than 1 upstair neighbor.

i stayed at 2nd highest floor and that family staying above me has made all sorts of noises(make you wonder why they like to drag the furniture middle of the night, stomping the floor with rhythm (can hear music).. asked guard go check and advice but no improvement.

My neighbor from above love to use granite stone bowl to knock some food/spice for cooking. I bought the small blender for this particular neighbor and issue solved.

I had similar experience as well, when feel it come from my above floor but actually is 2 level above mine. Complaint is useless, try talk to them nicely and understand why it happen so often.

Anyways living in high rise you can face a lot this problem unless you staying in landed which have lesser problem

My upstairs neighbors are inconsiderate, I tried talking vry nicely to them a few times , the more I approach them the more they make me suffer. You can never change a leopard from it’s spot.

I’m also looking for one to buy. Look like it’s only available in the US
