What's your take in naming your website? It could be a personal website with monetization potential in the future.

Some points I'm looking at now:

Pro in using real name:
- Personal branding
- Closer engagement (interacting with a person vs with a business)

Cons in using real name:
- Privacy/Legal?
- Expansion possibilities such as partnership
- Flexibility to transfer ownership

I’m happy to be using Josh.my, though I’ve to say it’s terrible that Mynic until now has no private registration system. Used to own privacy.my but let it lapse, was planning to do a proxy system for registrations.

Though I’ve to say, maybe you can do both? If I were to start all over again, I might have chosen a different name, as I did get quite some good offers to sell my agency last time.

If you do choose to have your name though, hang on to it - and be wary of having too many partners. I’m sure you’ve heard of Jimmy Choo - unfortunately he no longer holds the rights to the “Jimmy Choo” label at all, it is owned by Michael Kors.
