Recommendation:
1) Toyo Proxes CR1 SUV
No experience using it yet. This tyre is too new in the market and most of the review available now are paid reviews.
2) Nexen N’fera RU1 SUV
Really comfortable and absorbs bump well. It has good treadwear and surprisingly affordable but don’t expect sticky rubber in the wet. Good load index rating.
It’s being used as OE fitment for Porsche Macan although I couldn’t associate this tyre as sporty.
Previous experience: Hankook Ventus Prime 2
Bumpy and bad wet performance. It has SUV size but it is not designed specifically for SUV like the models above. Short life, only around 40k mileage. I found the Nexen a much better buy at the same price.
P/S: I would repeat purchase of the Nexen but as a curious kitty, I’d like to try out the newly launched Toyo Proxes CR1 SUV as our Malaysia prince of drift tengku djan highly recommend for its comfort and assuring characteristic. Seems to hit SUV owners at the right spot. Pssst… although this tyre is the newest in the lot, it is also the most affordable of them all! Probably have something to do with the cost saved from manufacturing to shipping as it is made in Malaysia.
Wow interesting, need to check them out first
But are they good for basic long-distance driving?
Which shop did you go to, if you don't mind sharing? I'm based in KL, but don't mind travelling a bit after MCO is over
