I will update from time to time the pricing of the accesories & parts. I am pretty saddened though LG came out with nice phone but respond to my enquiries do not meet my expectation - slow and troublesome.

Anyway, here are the two items that I managed to KOREK them for price, the number is parts number so you can get it direct from LG or Zitron, or you can PM me if you wanna get it direct from me, price the same from me minus the cents cents lar.

SBPP0023301 - Battery - Price: RM 79.29

SGDY0010904 - Data Cable - Price : RM 19.31

Cheers!

Just got my data cable from cybermick today. I have been looking for it for soooooo long as I want one for my office, and one for home. Went to all those mobile phone shops before and they were no help at all. The LG mobile shop at IOI mall told me that I can place an order and that the cable will cost me ~RM90!!!! So thanks cybermick for helping me to save so much! I tested it and it's working wonderfully. May consider to get an additional battery in future too... lets see how mine is holding up first.

Anyhow so far I am happy with my KS20. One thing that irritates me though... is the default location of the picture files. If you choose external storage to store your pics, the camera application will automatically save it to your SD card under the folder /Storage Card/. I hunted the net to find a solution and there seem to be none. In the registry, there is this entry which seem very very relevant: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ System/Pictures/Camera/OEM/PictureLocation. However whatever changes I made did not seem to take effect. :-(

Any ideas anyone??

Hi guys,

Just want to share with you on a cool soft keyboard, CooTek Touchpal. It's optimised for one hand usage. There are 2 versions of it - Standard and Professional. The standard one is free and already has all the features that I want from a SIP. rclxms.gif

I installed it on my KS20 and so far so good. Still getting use to it though.

Check it out -> http://www.cootek.com/index.aspx

Hi guys,

I am wondering whether you guys experienced this problem with saving pictures in storage card.

When you select Storage as "External" in Camera settings, your pictures will be automatically saved to \Storage Card\ everytime you snapped. However I noticed that when my picture files reached to about 15MB in this folder (\Storage Card\), those pictures that I snapped after that did not get saved there anymore. I din get any error messages as well. They just seemed to disappear. rclxub.gif

I experimented by deleting some pictures from this folder and after that the camera was able to save the new pictures to the folder again. I also created another folder within \Storage Card\ (ex: \Storage Card\My Pictures) and moved my existing pictures there. After that I don't get this problem anymore.

You guys have any idea about this? Is there a limit to the total size of picture files allowable in the folder?

Welcome to the club!! rclxms.gif I bought my phone more than 2 weeks ago and I am still loving it although there are some glitches here and there.

Just got my units 2 days ago. i am new user in PDA phone. Wondering who can tell me show to copy all the SIM card contact to the phone. Seems like can't find any option or SIM Manager in KS20.
*
Hi, yeah...I can't find the SIM Manager either. Anyway I am assuming that you want to display your SIM contacts along with your phone contacts, right? I thought by default it displays both (i.e. contacts from SIM and contacts from phone)?

Anyway in case it doesn't, you may want to attempt changing the registry as below:

1. Get a registry editor for your WM6. PHM Registry Editor is a good choice. It's free.
2. Using your registry editor, go the HKEY_Current_User\ControlPanel\Phone.
3. Add a new DWORD value called "ShowSim" and set as "1" to show your SIM contacts; or "0" to hide your SIM contacts.

Hope this helps.

I did the above to hide my SIM contacts. With the default contact PIM (which comes with the phone) it works.. but with Pocket Informant (3rd party) contacts, it doesn't. :-(

P/S Do be careful when modifying your registry though...

hello, can anyone help me with the ks20 mms settings? thanks!!!

You can go Programs->AutoProfile and select your service operator.

Or have you already done that and there is a problem with your MMS?

fishman, thanks for tips! it works well now.

my next question is, how to set custom ring tone for incoming sms or mms or email??
*
You're welcome! tongue.gif

To set different sound for sms, mms or e-mail, you can do the following:
1. Start->Settings->Sounds & Notifications.
2. Then go to the Notifications tab. You can set your event and what sound you want for each of the events.
(The available sound for selection are from wav files found in the Windows folder)

how over expensive? should this PDA phone with packed features and sell to you at RM1299???? if like this, ks20 doesnt need people like us to sell, it will sell by its own. please judge the price accordingly. Try looking at HTC one arent they more expensive? retailing at RM1888 and my price? sheesh...
*
Yeah...actually with all the features available in KS20, the price of it is really considered a bargain! You cannot compare a PDA phone with the normal phones. KS20 is the cheapest compared to other PDA phones of the same league.

Seaedge, wah... your price for KS20 is very good leh. I bought mine for much higher than that... well I got it within the first week it was released la. Cannot tahan ma... must get my hands on this beauty ma... hehe. No regrets though.... love the phone!

He has flown overseas for a business trip last night. I wondered whether he brought along his new KS20. Anyway I have SMSed him to ask about the shop he bought his new phone from. It may be a bit too late (i.e. PC Fair may be over) by the time I get a reply from him. Anyhow I let you guys know. I will definitely introduce him to this forum when he gets back.

My friend SMSed back saying that he got his KS20 from LG's booth on the 3rd floor of PC Fair's exhibition floor.

Any Tai koh can advise how to change and ADD the Alarm tone on the original tone. The current Alarm tone can't be use lah
*
Hi, when you say alarm, do you mean the clock alarm? If that is what you mean and you would like to add in more alarm sounds, you will need to get the wav files for that (you can download them from the net). Then save these wav files into the /Windows folder in your device.

To change your clock alarm, you click on the bell icon in your Clock & Alarms page. From there, you will be able to select whichever sound you want from the drop down box.

Hi guys,

I cannot setup MMS until today. The maxis people dunno what they are doing. I think they dunno this LG KS20 yet.

Anyone know how to set up? thanx..
*
Hi,

Try going to Programs->AutoProfile and select Maxis 3G (I assume you have 3G). Then select OK.

Then get a friend to send an MMS to you and see whether you can receive. If ok, then try sending one MMS out. If you have problem sending, check whether the receipient's phone number has any space in between the numbers. If yes, remove this space and try again.

If all also don't work, then guess you have to call Maxis again.

Do you know where i can get chinese simplifierd to view & type SMS?

thanx.
*
You are welcome. Glad I could help.

As for the reading & typing in chinese thingy, so sorry as I am a banana person (means I don't read chinese) blush.gif and so, I did not do anything about this. If I am not mistaken, you need a 3rd party software like CE-Star for that. I have also read of the sunglobe font method but that is only for viewing purpose. Perhaps you can do a google and search for "sunglobe read chinese WM" and see whether there is anything there that you can use.

do u guys know the settings for the best way to save battery for ks20?? and if the phone out of batt, will my contacts, songs, data, etc. still inside there?? wad if i off the phone when its running out of batt? will it also preserve my data till i charged it?

im a newbie here... thanks somuch for helps..
*
Hi,

Not to worry. Even when your phone ran out of batt, your programs and data are all safe. All the programs and data saved in your device will only be wiped out if you do a HARD reset.

As for battery power, installing programs that run in the background... example like all those launcher programs or today plugins will definitely take up batt power... however I can't live without them, so have to bear with that lo.

Also when you click x to close programs, they are actually minimised instead of being closed. Minimised program still runs at the background, thus consuming batt power as well. To really close them, you have to go to Settings->System->Memory->Running programs and stop them manually. Alternatively you can invest on programs like spb pocket plus which can set the x button to really close the program instead of minimising them.
