i just wondering whether a new macbook will be released in the near future... i can wait if it's worth for the wait...if not..i wish i can own macbook at this second..haha
leopard is coming out in october..n rumours say that a thinner n lighter macbook will be released along with it..
so logically thinking.. the current model will drop in price..and maybe the new macbook(if released) will be a much better replacement for the current model...
i don't really care much about leopard or not..rather...i m concerned abt the new light and thin macbook...
1)how much will be the price drop of the current model then?
2)and how long will the battery last under documenting stuation, ie typing ( no wifi, no bluetooth, no media)?
3)is heating a major problem with macbook?
4)should i buy now???
on top of that, machines is doing promotion where u get office with just rm99 (tomorrow is the last day of promotion)
I need u guyz opinion... thnx a bunch!! ^^

1. when there's a new model, the old one, basic model would be around RM3899 or so.
2. you should get roughly 4 hours, depending on the brightness setting. I can get 4 hours with WiFi on, but minimum brightness.
3. I have SpeedBalls on my MacBook, and I always use it on a smooth, hard surface. maximum temp so far I've seen is 70.
4. you should wait for Leopard. you'll have to come out another RM499 at least, so why not wait? Its only 2 months... we've been waiting for 12 months already... what's another 2 smile.gif
5. Machines promo, well, if you wanna buy according to promo, wait for PC Fair Dec 2007 promo la. Nothing special la Office, can even get Neo Office for free!

If you absolutely need it right away, ie for work & such...then get it. if not, if you're buying cause there's some promos or just can't wait to get ur hands on a Mac....please wait. it's not every year apple releases a new os, plus it's not much further away. even if you can afford to cough up the extra $$ in order to upgrade to leopard later, it's not worth it....imho... smile.gif

if you are a student, even better...

there is a student rebate going on by macstudio

MB062ZP/A : MB 13/2.16 @ RM 4265 ( Normal Price : RM 4999)

if you don't want the ipod, sell it off...

and i have a feeling leopard will be out late october..

oh, and macs, by history, don't drop price much... u just probably get more for the same old price...
battery life is fair like any other notebook
i think the third revision they have solved the Major heating issue caused by excessive application of thermal paste...

Get it now if you ABSOLUTELY need computing on the go. You can ditch it later when or if Apple comes out with the ultraportable that everyone's been holding their breath for.

Monny, thats a good deal..thats like getting a free iPOD, and eventhough i'm situated in Australia, my friend is coming over 12th september. I can ask any of my friends in Uni to buy it for me, then pack it over.

That means if i get a iPOD video, ill get that total rebate minus the amount of the macbook ($4199) rite?

Crumpler what?

Anyhow, i dont wanna wait for Leopard, to me, the current OCX works just as fine. The upgrade has fitted alot of new features, but its not those i'd be waiting for 2 months or maybe more for.

Only one in Low Yat...ouch, i dont know if my friend's willing to check it out for me
