Hi guys, was thinking of getting a 24" lcd monitor.

Actually choose Benq cause of the HDMI input.
has anyone tried the Benq FP241VW? Any Reviews for that? I know the FP241W Z came out as suggestions a few times in this thread. Which one is actually better? or perhaps better value for money.

And more importantly which shop and where should i go to make a purchase for these Benq monitors. Thanks in advance guys

Hi i just purchased mine (FP241VW) yesterday from Low Yat for RM2099. (editeD)

Very good monitor. when tried at the shop they used a D-Sub connection the screen was wavering alot, was quite scared, but they say it was the cable problem. Went home and tried still wavering. But i found out it was due the settings not calibrated properly. Used the Auto test program in the CD supplied with the monitor and suddenly the screen was perfect. Two A4 word documents side by side was no problem

Put in my Xbox 360 with component cables (Blue Red and Green) and the picture is sooo good. Ive been using normal tv all the while and suddenly
Bioshock, gears of war looks so damn good!!!

The only problem is how come it doesn't have any sound input jack (white colour) for component or composite inputs!

I'm sorry i'm a big newbie to this, but i'm using computer altec lansing (sp?) speakers and i normally plug in the speakers to the earphone jack on my TVs.

se7enhafiz when you're playing your xbox360 where do you connect your "White" input jack to ? For me to have sound, i have to use a strange method which is, i have to plug the white composite cable into my old tv and then plug my altec lansing speakers to my old tv earphone jack, while my visuals (component) cables is plug to my lcd monitor. That way my sound is kinda routed via my old tv and my visuals is from my new lcd.

I suppose if i had a home theatre sound system i can plug it to that. But is there any other way?

And if i used HDMI or DVI-D connections will i be able to use the earphone jack on my Benq lcd monitor to hear sounds?(as this problem seem to be for component/composite connections as there is no audio input (white))

If anyone can help me out i'll be really appreciative. thanks!

(Edit: Spelling errors, SORRY RM2099 NOT 1,099 TYPO!!!! sorry for confusion)

RM1099 for 24" LCD monitor  what model is that?

Usually pc monitors don't include speakers so thats why you can't find the red/white cable input jack..

Edited : Hehe.. saw your correction already

Thanks for your reply SkyX. Would you know if i used a DVI-D or HDMI connection, would the earphone jack on the monitor work then? thanks.
and i'm curious how other people who uses a Xbox360 on this monitor get their sound out. Any help on this would be grealy appreciated.

You could buy a female to female RCA(your red/white cable) to mini-jack(your pc speakers cable) converter

Edited : something like this  tongue.gif  credit to IGN.com

Thanks SkyX, its a good LCD, i highly recommend it. No regrets so far, WELL, i suppose when my credit card statement comes i'll regret a little smile.gif but i've been planning and thinking this through sometime, and the monitor works great!

Set my xbox at 1080p and games looks just great.

but i do admit i'm not very good at this area, and i haven't done a very extensive research, so other models might be better.

according to ruztynail dell might be good. But hey i'm happy with my unit and if you ask me go buy it smile.gif
