Civic, if you enjoy taking flora, read through the following articles:
http://www.juzaphoto.com/eng/articles/faun...photography.htm

The limitation is not usually the camera, but the photographer.

Check out these photos too:

kena cucuk is the one way to improve, but yourself need to filter out which one is valid....

civic98, i suggest you find a shooting gang, and you will learn more faster when you see your friends shoot with different angle, setting, lighting.... on the same subject that you also took.

Hmmm I could, but kinda difficult due to the nature of my work and location.. Well at the moment, just experimenting myself.. Learned a new thing today from kelvinyam's recommended website, since I can't control much with a P&S, I discovered I could get a better bokeh with a little digital zoom on macro shooting.. Haven't had the chance to try out (bad weather today), in the mean time, here are some other pics took earlier today..

Thanks!! As a matter of fact I did (took over 50 pics just with this spider), just that there were other "distractions" in the pic, so didn't post it. But here it is...

Digital zoom won't improve the bokeh. Optical zoom does.
As for the spider, since your zoom is limited, try to go near and shoot via macro setting. Don't let the spider bite you though tongue.gif

Well yeah, with a P&S I cant optical zoom in macro (all these were taken with "Digital Macro" setting), so the next thing to do is digital zoom (something like "telephoto"). Btw it's a very very very small spider (5mm maybe), any closer would have its web on my lens! Haha..

Well thanks for the advice thumbup.gif

Thanks but I don't think it's that nice, my shots are straightforward still, no compo or effects yet. Will need to improve on that before I play around with Photoshop. These pics are untouched, other than the frame, siggy and resizing.

Added on September 15, 2007, 6:14 pmOk got Photobucket working, here are 2 photos took today (took 136 but only 2 nice ones)..
