For the voltage converter IC, i found a replacement for MAXIM chip at Jln Pasar the code is ICL7660 if not mistaken. The drawback of the IC is the output current is low.

now working on a CMOY. i got a amp kit based on TDA2005 which i bought years ago, i disable the preamp IC, running line signal straight to the poweramp IC. now thinking of building a preamp circuit for it.

anyone got any suggestion?

jazzy939: i think is the bridge version, the preamp IC in the kit is AN6551. right now i bypass the signal to the poweramp IC.

i am thinking of using CMOY as preamp, maybe add a diamond buffer at output. no money to buy buffer IC like: BUF634.

jazzy939: i use a china brand vdc player as source and driving a pair of speakers. i simply connect the line signal input to the power amp, so the signal didnt go thru the preamp IC.

Is AN6551 a good preamp IC? i dun realize that.

PCB is not hard to fabricate, but if u want good quality like the one produced by factory, that is not DIYable.

actually, we can ask UKM to fabricate PCB and their price is cheaper compared to other company. i am not sure about the actual price as i heard this matter from my lecturer.

i use the toner transfer method before, result quite good but need experience to handle the process. sometime need trimming if transfer not perfect.

i usually use photo resist board nowadays but expensive. another good way is use press n' peel paper, they are available at jln pasar now, i know a shop got sell them. but again this special paper imported and expensive but result is very good.

PCB fabrication company usually charge quite expensive and need minimum order. if bulk buy definetly will go for their service as the quality is impressive.

just the matter of money, depends on how much u willing to pay and how good u want it to be.

how u guys dispose the ferritic chloride solution after etching? i use sodium bicarbonate(baking soda powder) to neutralize it and dispose.

anyway can get ammonium persulphate at local? it is better than the ferritic chloride bcoz it won leave stain on clothes. i have a few clothes got those yellow stain which is very bad looking.
