How to safely dispose powerbank?

Haven't touch the powerbank for quite some time. Today noticed it bloated.
Dem seller selling fake stuff mad.gif vmad.gif ranting.gif

A bloated powerbank doesn't mean its "fake" stuff.

Batteries consists of lots of chemicals in its composition and the chemicals do have their lifespan and the chemicals slowly degrade overtime.

If not used, at least leave your powerbank charged 50%

I partially agree with the above.

However we performed some test and comparison with the powerbank, it is a confirmed non-genuine unit.
Besides that, I owned a 5 years old powerbank as well and still charging strongly.

Back to main question, any advice on how to manage this bloated battery?
Was thinking to hand over it to recycle center, but not sure if they will take it.
Worry to dispose in bin as well, there might be toxic and worse if fire.

Should’ve bought a lithium ion battery power banks, those are the best!
