I got some questions and I hope sifus can advise:

1. Plasma have better motion speed than LCD. I have seen movies on the ending part where the words come out and I realise LCD TV show jerking and not smooth. Plasma don't have this problem? That's why LCD have 100hz thingy and plasma don't need.
2. Plasma has better viewing angle compared to LCD. If you watch on the side of LCD panel, the picture is washed out. Plasma don't have this problem?
3. Last time I heard ppl say plasma has shorter life span. I see Panasonic Viera plasma models, it says 60k hours. So it's the same as LCD?
4. Power consumption: Plasma in long run saves power because it varies based on brightness of the pictures.
5. Astro pictures is better with Plasma than LCD?
6. Plasma PQ is better than LCD, because their black is deeper and more natural?

Please advise.

Wanna know something about Panasonic viera link. Is it only applicable to panasonic devices to link with 1 remote control?

Last time I heard someone saying that if the connection is HDMI, then you can control the device even different brand.

How true is the above??

phew. thanks for the clarification. I am very interested in this coming new panny models.

I have many 720p HD movies in my PC. I am planning to connect my pc to the plasma tv and playback.
I need a new pc with basic setup and with HDMI graphic card.

1. Can you advise what is the ideal setup?
2. Do I need a Full HD tv to playback my 720p hd movies?

digitaltech, one advice for u
plasma resolution is 1024 X 768 , but in Pc terms tis is a 4:3 image, so most prolly it would stretch it to 16:9
so for VGA input maybe it will be distorted, im not sure for hdmi input for pc
pls try it b4 buying
*
Hi rx330!

Thanks for the reminder. However I have seen many wide screen pc lcd monitor which is selling in the market and turns out to be ok.
I mean, if the widescreen monitor picture is not distorted, then I presume it should be ok with plasam hdtv.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Can anyone have tried using hdmi graphic card connection from pc to Hdtv advise.

TQ

I went to Sunway yesterday to check out the new viera pv8h and pv80h. The promo is they are giving RM250 early bird discount on the original price + 1 free HDMI cable + S video cable + 5 years warranty. Delivery only in mid April. Credit card no extra charges.

I am planning to get both pv80h and lumix TZ15...another RM410 discount. Amazing deal.

The glass in the plasma is very strong. they demo using a ball bearing and hit it on the plasma screen and nothing happen. impressive.

I called up one of my usual dealer. They said they only get the stock in May. He offered me RM4300 for pv80h. I said wtf? Serious man. I doubt anybody can offer this price.

So the promo in Sunway now is not that great.

I am planning to connect a pc to my plasma tv via HDMI connection. I've tested playing 720p movie via this connection and it's awesome.

However, I could not find a wireless keyboard cum mouse (2 in 1) anywhere. If I am sitting on my sofa, the distance between the tv is far apart. So if I have a 2 in 1 keyboard mouse and can navigate it on my lap without need to sit on the table.

Anyone can help?

digitaltech, check ur warranty card then - good luck to u, that's below market cost price fro any of the company and pls share with other forumer as well if they are interested....

UNLESS u got contact direct from panasonic inside ppl, then i might believe.....

Actually my bro also ask from a local dealer here. They also quote RM4,300.00. I think that's not below market price.
Even with 1 year warranty, it's still worth it. You can check with others panny dealers and you will be surprise.

Anybody interested I sell to you all for RM4,500.00 I make RM200.00.

u can ask adrian from TBM as  well for the pricing.....
PLS ask from an AUTORIZED DEALER and PLS not LEGEND again coz they are not authorized , i know they quote rm 4300......
some local and small shop also not listed as Autorized Dealer aslo dont ask la.....
Both SG and Malaysia Panasonic is offering 5 year warranty like pioneer,
hope u no nid to send ur stuff back to SG when sometimes is wrong......

buy at ur own risk.....
nasi daun pisang lo....go sri pandi hahahaha or beside panny HQ got 1 mamak, it is very obvious to notice one, the nasi lemak or indian mix rice also not bad....

otherwise near nissan there got Ah Yat abolone hehehehehe......
*
This dealer is getting the stock directly from Panny Malaysia. This dealer is not Legend.
Maybe the cost price you see is 1 unit. This dealer probably ordered in bulk and got discount? possible?

Anyway, I am a happy man getting @ 4300. no complains. i just have to make sure the warranty card in Panny Msia.

Will update you all when I get it this week...hopefully.

Holy smokes batman...
pv80 @ RM4300 , sure or not DigitalTech.. thats a real steal la if its true.. and if so looks like there will be alot of unhappy ppl.

This dealer I am getting from is a very close friend. Our whole house electrical stuff bought from him since 20 years ago.
I dunno whether he is making money offering that price or not. But I trust him all these years and he never let me down.
He even trade in my 29" CRT TV (2001) for RM300.00. Unbelievable. Free transportation from outstation to PJ.

He told me that the stock will arrive this Friday. We shall see.

What Jas mention that it comes from SG is very confusing. If a dealer can get direct from SG and it's cheaper, do you think Panny Msia will allow this to happen? That means Panny SG is killing Panng MY? Dealer smuggle from SG?

I can give you an example of difference in pricing such as WD My Book 500GB harddrive which I bought from low yat for RM420.00. I went to Mid Valley IT Centre and I ask for the same product price. They quote me RM550.00. Why same product the price difference so much and it's within Klang Valley? And the surprise thing is they are still surviving and ppl are still buying IT stuff in Mid Valley with that high price.

I will update you guys when I get my TV and home theatre.

ok..lets c...i think those dealer curi curi get from sg de but fren...bout those thing..let jas explain le..he more understand...but jas n me work for those in this line..we kno it is impossible to get 42pv80 at the price of 4.3k
*
For the WD hdd example, I did tell the Mid valley IT store that I can get RM420 for the WD 500gb harddrive. He said it's impossible to get that price.
I told him that low yat almost every store there offering between RM420-RM450. Then the sales man told me that maybe it's fake WD hdd.
Unbelievable statement when you cannot compete with the pricing.

I guess different dealers has different cost pricing. So nothing it's impossible.

Seriously, why don't you check out other dealers on the price for PV80h. Just call them and act like a customer and check.
I already know 2 dealers offering RM4300.00. I have no reason lying to you. I doubt there's fake panny pv80h, right?

hmm...wat dealer lo?even TBM,harvey n best cant match the price?i dunno who is top dealer for panny but 100% sure tbm is top 3..
how bout u pm me their number n i pretend to b customer...i can test him de biggrin.gif

n as wat jas said..pv80 only come around 20++ how come u can get within this week while whole msia dun hv it?

Seriously, the bigger you are, the less competitive you are. Best Dengki and Harvey are big boys, no doubt. But remember they are running at very high cost to operate big stores in shopping malls. They need bigger margins to cover their expenses. You can just choose any electrical product price from Harvey and compared with a small electrical shop, they can anytime beat Harvey's price. Seen it, done that before. So, I never buy electrical stuff from big boys.

Small boys can earn lesser because they overheads are low.
