Saw a news regarding Pioneer will pullout from manufacturing plasma panel as early as this year. they will concentrate on tv assembly and buy plasma panel from panasonic.
i wonder wether the quality will be similar? |

Pioneer bought the Kagoshima plant from NEC Corp and now wants NEC to buy it back, the Asahi said. A Pioneer spokesman said its flat TV strategy will become available when it unveils a mid-term business plan in early March, but nothing specific has been decided. Shares in Pioneer were up 3.8 percent by early afternoon, outperforming the Tokyo stock market's electrical machinery index IELEC, which rose 2.2 percent. |

Its all over the web talking about pioneer latest press release regarding this. They will stop producing plasma panel after gen 9 kuro (currently its gen 8 in malaysia. Gen 9 will come out sometimes in june/july in US). After that they will buy plasma panel from panasonic, and assemble all the kuro themselves. The kuro will always be there albeit different panel. Unless pioneer dont want to distribute kuro in Malaysia. In that case,  . I, like you really admire kuro and plan to get it.You right though about pioneer making LCD, but I certainly doubt it will be here in malaysia by end of this year. You know la, malaysia, everything is slow motion.... |
