QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Feb 24 2022, 12:20 PM) Nolar bro...U know me. Still hardcore Oneplus fag. Will get the 9R or 9RT as my last oneplus. Wait for the 10 Pro, bro... since it's probably your last one better go all out The S22 Ultra is way to pricey. Might was well get the Iphone 13PM for those that dont have it already. Much better overall experience with IOS and Iphones. Ya, Android flagships have reached iPhone level pricing already. Gone are the days of good deals for Android phones, haha.. |

QUOTE(alternativehype @ Feb 24 2022, 02:06 PM) True. I don't like Apple, Xiaomi, OPPO... dunno what to get next already Hahaha, yeah, limited options now in the Android flagship space - but the midrange options are pretty good. Xiaomi is still pretty much the bang for buck option as far as value for performance is concerned, but on the downside is you have to put up with MIUI and its quirks. I've not used an OPPO since they redesigned ColorOS but the earlier version of ColorOS is freaking bad. I'd love to try a Pixel too but since it's never gonna be here officially so that's out. Huawei was a good option till they got blacklisted by US. Want Pixel, but also got its own sh!t problem Samsung seems to be my next upgrade I'd never even consider another Samsung flagship after my years of experience trying this and that Exynos chipset over the other, so this round is different coz they are bringing the SD Gen 1 chipset to Malaysia officially instead - but like TS said, it's pricey. Also, Samsung's One UI may be refined and feature rich for most folks, but I feel it's bloated with a lot of unnecessary and unwanted apps - it's like they are trying too hard to force their ecosystem down our throats! We will definitely miss OnePlus and OxygenOS now that the integration with OPPO is getting deeper... Apple ecosystem is not for everyone so can't compare |

QUOTE(enduser @ Mar 1 2022, 08:47 AM) New hope....Oxygen is alive Must have received massive blowback from their community and fans to backtrack on their unified OS.. The OnePlus 10 Pro is launching globally next month with OxygenOS 12.1, not Unified OS https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2022...aunch-oxygenos/ ![]() Since the S22 series from Samsung is running SD processors now in Malaysia the OP 10 Pro will probably struggle even more in our local market - unless they price it aggressively. |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Mar 1 2022, 11:48 AM) Yes bro. Buying a Oneplus phone with Color OS is actually buying an Oppo. Its ridicilous. I would have gotten an Oppo if I wanted Color OS. There is no other way to put it. The S22 Ultra comes with 30GB of used storage out of the box, bro. Talk about bloatware!Anyway, I hope the developers will put their heart and minds on developing Oxygen Os. If they continue like how they are doing now coming out with half baked updates, its going to be curtains for the brand too. For that reason I’d still pick OxygenOS as my preferred Android UI, but I find it hard to pay the premium they are charging for their hardware coz till now, their cameras still can’t match Samsung or Apple and their support network is still relatively weaker, particularly in our country. They could end up being a very niche brand for just fans - but not sure if that is enough to support their lofty ambitions. |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Mar 1 2022, 12:12 PM) Haha... Samsung. Ya, let's wait and see after the OP 10 Pro launches here officially, if at all That is why I say bro, go for their previous flagship devices like the 9 or 9 Pro at bargain prices once the new OP10 Pro arrives. The Oneplus 9R and 9RT are still good buys for the price now. |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Mar 2 2022, 06:10 PM) Oneplus really needs to dig deep to rebuilt its image and brand reputation this round. If Oppo still cares about the brand. I think no one at BBK Electronics cares about OnePlus after Carl Pei’s departure bro… they are more focused on Oppo and Vivo for the Chinese and global markets, and focus on Realme and IQOO for India market |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Mar 21 2022, 03:03 PM) Seems like Oneplus has moved their official Store on Shopee to Lazada. I wouldn’t call having just 3 products being listed as alive and kicking bro https://www.lazada.com.my/shop/oneplus? Oneplus Malaysia is still alive and kicking. |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Mar 22 2022, 01:17 PM) Anyway my OP9R just arrived. I hate to say it but this could be my last Oneplus phone after so many years on Oneplus phones Upgrading from your OP8 finally? Yeah, kinda sad how the OP evolved from one of the more exciting Android phones for fans to a now generic China-man brand… |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Mar 22 2022, 03:23 PM) Yeah bro.. how many years since I had the OP8? Bought during a sale last time on shopee IMNM. Was playing with the S22+ at HV last weekend, impressive phone but impressive price as well. Ya bro, I remember it was a flash sale some years back and the O8 was going for like RM2k or something like that… I tried to grab one too but it ran out of stock before I could, hahaha Anyway I got a 256gb 9R. Should last me a good few years before need changing again. What was the deal you got on the 9R, if you don’t mind me asking? Below RM2k? |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Apr 6 2022, 12:36 PM) Hahaha, no la bro, skipping Android flagships for now. Plus the reviews of the 10 Pro isn't impressive especially on the camera and software part. Maybe after they finally return to OxygenOS.. |

QUOTE(alternativehype @ Apr 6 2022, 09:51 PM) QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Apr 6 2022, 09:57 PM) According to this link, OxygenOS 12 is like a hybrid still... Maybe wait for OxygenOS 13?"OxygenOS 12 is a problematic update for several reasons. In terms of features, it adds several new ones but also takes away or fundamentally changes things users had grown used to. In the end, the transaction doesn't seem equal or fair and you feel like you lost things you wanted for things you didn't need. In terms of design, the new update is a trainwreck. The mishmash of ColorOS, OxygenOS 11, and Android 12 elements creates a hodgepodge of inconsistent, unpleasant, and seemingly broken appearance that no longer has any identity of its own and is equally unappealing to everyone. To assume any sort of thought or care went into the design feels foolish and it seems like the only objective was to copy as much of Oppo's homework as possible while trying to pretend like this was still somehow OxygenOS." QUOTE(alternativehype @ Apr 7 2022, 12:06 PM) That is only 1 reviewers view. There are many others who think OxygenOS 12 is ok Agree completely, the experience is subjective to each individual and I suppose I need to try it for myself at some point. But probably not on the flagship 10 Pro. Might get a Nord 2 or Nord CE 2 later in the year However, all that matters is your own experience. If you think OOS12 is sh!t, then it's sh!t lor. If it's good, then mai good lor. QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Apr 7 2022, 01:12 PM) After a few weeks on OOS 12, my only gripe would be VoLTE and VoWifi are not working. And I cant enable it myself because developers locked out engineering mode. Kinda stupid if you asked me. Even My cheapo Redmi 9A has VoLTE running out of the box. I’ve not bought an Oppo phone before but I was assigned one as a temporary phone by the company for a few months. It was one of those older phones with 3GB RAM and the early version of ColorOS - and it sucked big time, hahaha… Anyways, we’ll see if OnePlus continues to stay independent or might eventually merge with the likes of Vivo and Oppo and become just one brand.. It’ll be interesting.Haha... Well I think its a different ball game for them. Oneplus' parent company OPPO is really big. So I dont see that happening anytime soon. |
