Not an expert in photography. But considering how much oneplus invest in the partnership and the hype generated，increase in price seems inevitable.

Just don't expect the camera performance to improve drastically suddenly, marketing gimmick only lol

The hardware (camera) is already at flagship levels. Only the algorithm and software is holding Oneplus back. Just like Leica, Hasselblad is providing their expertise on the software, it should be good this round.

Having not spent more than 3.5k on a phone before, it definitely is a huge factor lol.

The camera on the 8 pro is already good. No doubt the partnership with hasselblad will improve the camera further. But the last thing we want is oneplus buying into their own hype and increase the pricing ridiculously.

I'm not going to say anything about the price but what you mentioned would most probably happen. Anyway, there is a leak on the prices in India as reported by Gadgets NDTV. Take this leak with a pinch of salt.

OnePlus 9 series India prices, configurations, and colour options seem to have leaked ahead of its launch later today, Tuesday, March 23 at 7.30pm IST. The company will be unveiling three smartphone models at the event, the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, and the more budget-friendly OnePlus 9R. The OnePlus 9 is tipped to have a starting price of Rs. 49,999, with the OnePlus 9 Pro starting at Rs. 64,999 and the OnePlus 9R starting at Rs. 39,999. The leak shows that this is the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of the phones.

As per the tweet by tipster Abhishek Yadav, who cites OnePlus Kerala community, the three phones in the OnePlus 9 series will be offered in two RAM and storage configurations each. Starting with the OnePlus 9, the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model is said to be priced at Rs. 49,999 with the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant priced at Rs. 54,999. It may be offered in Arctic Sky, Astral Black, and Winter Mist colours.

The OnePlus 9 Pro is said to be priced at Rs. 64,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and Rs. 69,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The colour options include Morning Mist, Pine Green, and Stellar Black.

Lastly, the OnePlus 9R is the cheapest of the three coming in at Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and Rs. 43,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. There seem to be only two colour options for the OnePlus 9R namely, Carbon Black and Lake Blue.

OnePlus will unveil the three OnePlus 9 series phones as well as the OnePlus Watch today, March 23, at 7:30pm IST.

In comparison, the OnePlus 8 series launched in April last year and the vanilla OnePlus 8 started at Rs. 41,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, though this model was exclusive to India. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant was priced at Rs. 44,999. The OnePlus 8 Pro started at Rs. 54,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.


The leaked prices for the OnePlus 9 series seem quite high, which, in part, could be due to the Hasselblad partnership. However, it should be noted that these prices have not come from OnePlus and the leak should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Everything start out small and now they big enough to compete with big boys along with price hike. Is inevitable.

Like I said earlier, price hike is acceptable and inevitable, but by how much? That is the debatable question.

only change to OnePlus if you can give up the following:

- samsung pay
- clipboard manager
- good lock modules (if you use any) - as there is nothing that can replicate similar customizations on OnePlus OOS
- if your company has MDM enabled to only allow Samsung Or Pixel phones to connect to company servers/data
- limited choices of AOD (and if you dont mind the red "1" text on clock/AOD )
- fonts customization
- themes
- stock launcher - if you utilize folders in app drawer, stock OP launcher dont have folders in app drawers
- "Share" window customization - removing/pinning most used apps
- Dex (tho i dont think majority of Samsung users uses this. lol)
- and if you do use gestures + One Handed Operation+.. keep this in mind , OP is just basic back gestures on both sides. OHO+ cannot be installed on other manufacturers.
- lockscreen album art (OP OOS is enabled by default, no way to disable this unless you block Spotify controls)

Usually prices of Oneplus phones in India is a tad cheaper than the rest of the world. Cheapest would still be China sets though.

Sell cheaper la... Oneplus giving discounts of Rm800 for both Oneplus 8 and Oneplus 8 Pro starting today.

This I agree. Even the OP8/ 8T is still huge. Smallest Oneplus phone as of now that is still being sold is the Nord.

Looking forward to the Oneplus 9R, if the price is below RM2000, I'll put into my list.
