Hi TS,

Looking for a small projector for my bedroom, mostly for Youtube or online movies. Will be for night use so the room will be dark most of the time.

Can you recommend 1 that is within the 1k budget? Currently looking at T6max, but just wondering if there are any better options at this price range? Or a cheaper one with similar specs as T6max.

Thanks in advance.

Also about the projector positioning, since i got quite a fixed place to put it, need to make sure the size can fit well to my place. And there's a AC unit on top of the wall where I want to the projection screen to be at. Referring to the sketch below, which I tried to calculate the screen size based on my understanding:

1) From the top view, seems that the screen width is just nice to fit my wall, assuming that the throw ratio is 1.4 for the XIDU S1 (searched from google).

2) But from the side view, would like to know which one is the correct one? Will the projector projects out the projection like shown in the side view 1 or 2? If it's side view 1 then again it will be just nice, and i can tilt it slightly up to the bottom of the AC unit. But if it's side view 2 then i will have a big problem sweat.gif

Would like to seek some opinions on this, if my calculations are correct and especially on the side view of the projection.

Thanks in advance

Thanks, meaning that from your list I shall look for the LCD type (not DLP) projectors ya?

Also back to the XIDU S1, I see that the interface doesn't look like Android TV and can't seems to see the Google Play as well. Meaning I will need to install any apps via apk method right? And for those built-in apps, can do OTA updates?

Thanks

Yes, LCD.
APK method. You need to install 3rd party app store for OTA update.

btw i see from your review page, there's this link to aliexpress which the price for S1 is much cheaper than from lzd. may i know what's your experience of buying from aliexpress and if it's safe (in term of the fragile projector optics)? and will there be any custom taxes?

thanks

Safe but might have import tax (depending on the courier they use). For warranty, better get from Lazada. Just return to Lazada warehouse if have issue.

1. can the projector be connected to external speaker, eg studio monitors / 2.1 / sound bar?

2. does most projector come with its own UI, meaning load netflix direct from the projector

3. can i connect projector via HDMI (or any other method) to my PC and use it as a display output, eg play games on the projector? (i dont have console) or watch mkv on VLC

You need more than RM10K UST projector + screen to replace TV to watch in daylight. Few K projectors won't perform well during the day. Unless you are willing to watch at 60" or below. In this case, better get a TV. tongue.gif

Hello TS,

Wanna get a projector, which mainly will be used for evening purposes on the wall.

Budget 2-3k - higher quality better.. actually if 4k budget.. should I just get a UST Xiaomi?
