Stop fear mongering. Regular maintenance i.e changing thermal paste and pads & cleaning/dusting are all recommended practices on GPUs.it wouldnt increase the performance
Not to mention changing thermal paste is basically zero risk.
Even if your GPU is not suffering from any thermal throttling issues, changing paste and pads every few years will significantly improve your GPU temps, though I would say regular cleaning would have a greater impact on keeping temps low.
