I don't mean just tax rebates, ease of doing business, ease of finding talents etc is important. Public holiday is killing it in Malaysia.
*
public holiday dont really play a part in FDI exodus. Companies can actually choose which public holidays to follow. Only government departments strictly observe all public holiday.

You bet. Like it doesn't create problem to mnc during Malaysia public holidays. Government department and bank close can create enough problem di.

it is also market size

china is like 2000 cars a day go to the shop to wash car

msia is like 20 cars a day go to shop to wash car

you think the franchise owner of car wash want to teach shop with 2000/day customer or 20/day customer to open mechanic service ?

therefore msia learning curve must be fast to acquire the knowledge transfer

unfortunately we no japan or s korea, so we r left far behind.

even Indonesia can at least get 200/day customer, how can we compete ?
of course u know lah we know lah, why we r far behind.
*
Well, I'll not say local market will be a factor to attract mnc. MNC don't mind local market anyway, if there is local market it is a plus. We losing to Vietnam, Philippines. I'm sure our local market is better. Things that was research and developed in China wasn't meant for China market anyway, the target is the consumer from the West.

If you want to say about public hols, i ask to please look at Philippines public hols first. Theirs are much more than malaysia

Plus Phillippines compulsory to get 13th month pay, meal allowance and rice allowance on top of their base salary.

Malaysia don't have all those, yet mnc still going to phillipines. Our english mastery is the same as theirs too
So it's not about public hols or language.

better than this one:
Job: System Admin
MINIMUM requirement: PhD
Min working experience: 5 yrs
MAXIMUM SALARY cap: RM 4,800

p/s: The minimum requirement for PhD was not a typo. Angmo boss said PhD shows that the company only hire smart ppl.

U tell me who on earth mau apply with salary of RM4800 only as PhD holder?
Since response was very poor, they ended up lowering requirement to Degree holders LOL

Is it true?

IBM Cyberjaya closed shop already?

AFAIK, that company has been in Cyberjaya for quite some time, since 2004 if i am not mistaken.

Got a few of my friends working there also.

Feel hesitant if want to ask them, afraid they are affected also.  sad.gif

/k can confirm this news? Thanks.

Stay strong to those who are affected!  console.gif

The problem is that there are so many MNC in the same sector. If one doesn't transfer technology to China, another one will.

Take high speed rail for example: Japanese refused to transfer technology to China, but Europeans did. Now China has leapfrog both Japan and Europe.
*
I don't think so

China still has a lot to learn

for eg, their new airliner, needs jet engine and instrumental equipment from USA
China still behind in chip manufacturing, but catching up.

Yes we r losing competitiveness.

sorry to say lah, I see our productivity, so poor.

Even the british work from 830 to 530, the americans call them lazy, are much much better than us.

I go to HK and work, whenever I bring up issue, they all got ownership of work

here ? all wanna taichi taichi and working in silos.

Very true. But depending on company. I had worked in company where the area of responsibility is clear no one taichi anything, escalation means escalation, manager jump in and take over discussion.

Our productivity is actually higher than British counterpart. But we are working like robot and too transactional. There is no human touch. Used to work with someone from Britain. Before start anything they will say how are you? Hi hi, good day, sad day bla bla, going cafe , later go where etc etc small talk for few min before go into topics. In Malaysia we called it fake-fake. Actually entire apac culture besides Australia, once on call, straight to business. No time for small chat.

Which culture is better, I'll not judge. But efficiency wise, call that can be concluded in 30 min might take an hours including small chat.

But yes, I'll put British work hard, play hard and American work smart play smart as lazy.

British can anytime call office ask for blanket day. Entitlement. Not even emergency leave.

But if we are to compare with other Asia market, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore. We confirm lost.

You must compare in terms of our spiritual strength and superior moral culture. We are morally and spiritually superior. In afterlife, we will win.

So definitely we're no. 1 in the spiritual league. Forget about materialism and current benchmarks. It's obsolete.

Malaysia no. 1! Syabas!

Your islamophobia is at another level.

Tell you something, I don't like people to shove their believe onto other. Be it from whatever religion. There in /k used to have bunch of vegetarian shoveling their believe in /k, I'm having a good time with them. Of course, I'm having many good time with Muslim friends in here as well. But yours is at another level.

I told you, I have no God, if you trying to shove your whatever God to me, I'm sure we will going to have a great time in here ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't care what they believe, they leave me alone, I leave them alone.

Morally speaking, I think I have higher moral regards compare to certain religion leader like Hadi Awang who pray to god many times a day. I think many in /k had higher morality than him as well.
