Since when IBM involved in telecommunication industry

If you talking about MyDigital, lots of it are just bollocks with hype wordings. not even the people in the industry understand exactly what govt intends to do.

the only 2 concrete things that came out from that announcement was:
- govt gonna be in charge of building 5G infra, instead of leaving it to the industry players
- govt gonna move to public clouds, already eyed cooperation with the 3 main public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) + 1 local cloud provider ( TM Malaysia)

Shrink, reduce footprint for most of the Managed Service is very normal in IT services. More so when COVID-19 hit so bad in your client, they wanted to reduce cost on their business. Normally first thing they will cut is Managed Service.
Also, most of the MNC in Malaysia had adapted permanent work from home. Hence, shutting down, reduce physical workspace in office save them thousand if not, millions of operation cost. Give you an example, one of our client monthly electricity bill cost them RM80K, lease line from their data center cost them RM500K per month.
Covid strike force them to think for survival, and hence moved most of the physics to cloud based. Monthly at least RM580K saved.
