Hello! I'm going to place booking for Ativa AV this week, still torn between silver and white rclxub.gif
Would like to ask the owners here, do you send your car for paint protection treatment such as coating or waxing?
I was told ceramic coating got possibility will void paint warranty. Hope someone could give their opinion on this. Thanks notworthy.gif

White (No panda) owner here, white very nice if kept clean all the time, but very easily dirty. In hindsight would’ve considered grey/black or silver. Would pick blue if AV had the option to.

*
Ya! Blue not bad. In the end I place booking for white panda, will send it for coating or need to rajin wash car. So far haven't see dirty white Ativa on the road but so takut when I see other dirty white cars like yellow sweat.gif
Now just waiting in queue cause SA say perodua factory shutdown till 10th Jan for maintenance

one month is normal u patient dikit everybody wanna order car b4 cny
*
Haha ya I understand, I'm fine with it but family so eager on my behalf XD
The recent car buying process quite weird, usually downpayment can be done quite early. I was told downpayment and loan sign all can only be done when car is allocated. Prolly queue too long 🤷🏻‍♀️

great choice bro. dp collect later becos stock in progress not produce yet
also wanna avoid sa scam duit masuk poket. kan

most sa uncertain about stock, unless he is high position /top sales.
once d manager book sucess. he will inform yall pay moneys
*
Yea! The SA said when its time to pay dp, must do it immediately cause the cars will be distributed from the factory at the end of the month (once a month).
Since booking queue is high, they will give to those that can pay dp the fastest. This was the reason they recommend pay dp by cash or bank transfer instead of cheque. hmm.gif

The SA told me to prepare dp last week to get ready for this week. I paid early last week to cover the 2 days cheque processing time. This week I got updates on the engine and chassis number rclxms.gif
Hope delivery before CNY drool.gif

Booked on the 1st of December 2021. Car collected 27th January 2022 cause I insisted on getting a 2022 manufactured car.

I commute 120km daily to and fro from work, I am very happy with the way the Ativa handles.

Still running off the full tank provided by the SA, can't really gauge fuel consumption.

Add ons so far:
- Tinting done. Not branded, but very good installer. PM if want details.
- Swapped out the Factory Head Unit and Speakers with Teyes CC3 and Infinity Alpha speakers respectively. Sounds so much better!
- Soundproofing scheduled to be completed by this Saturday.
- And finally getting the car coated on Sunday.
*
Got mine on 27th too and got it coated few days ago. I'm also looking to soundproof and install a headunit with android auto but the warranty void is the dealbreaker. Maybe will do it on the 5th year 🙈

i didn't hear a loud roaring noise.  instead i hear a high pitch whistling sound.  are we referring to the same sound? haha
*
I wanna ask about this also. When I acclerate I can hear a long whistle sound during acceleration but it stops when I release the pedal slightly. But don't have this sound when I press the acceleration on P mode.

Not sure if its normal turbo sound or not. Didn't recall hearing it on the first few days after getting the car (maybe radio too loud lol)

It's the turbo blowoff sound.

I did the following Blowoff But removed it immediately after a test drive. A bit too noisy. Lols!
*
Ooh, from what I read and watched on yt is the sound seems to but in short burst and its in intervals which is different to what I heard when I drive. The whistle I heard is a long one during usual acceleration from 30 to 70km/hr, when I let go or maintain speed it stops. The sound is heard again when I accelerate a little more.

Then again I'm noob with regards to this lols

Hahaha it seems some like it noisy

normal turbo dont spin during free gear

I see, didn't know about it 🙈

QUOTE(unkaleong @ Feb 15 2022, 09:26 AM)
Not an audiophile, but the original head unit and speakers cannot make it. Plus the amount of time I spent commuting to work...I can live with the warranty being voided for the infotainment unit...
*
Haha the sound for me ok but the smartlink quite annoying whenever I use navigation it disconnects halfway.

Hi guys, just a question for fellow Ativa owners.
For those that has experienced some burning smell during acceleration above 80km/h or at 3k rpm, how long will it take for it to disappear on its own? (still got that smell after 5k km)
Planning to bring it up in the 2nd service in a couple of month or better to just visit the service center first?
Am planning to go for a long distance drive up north so contemplating if I should have it checked out first. Thanks

Yeah, some users in FB group say will be gone after lepak highway few more times. But mine still there also (14k), still have the smell when going fast. But then again I 95% city drive and seldom drive fast.
*
Ooh I see~ So far I never really drive at highway speeds since its always jam in KL these days hahaha. The burning smell appears during uphill climbs and overtaking (after 5-10 seconds over 3k rpm or when I reach 100km/h)

Just an update after talking to SC

Service informed that the R&D dept is aware of this issue and said that the smell is coming from the heated plastic parts within the engine.
The smell will naturally go away after 10k mileage. sweat.gif hmm.gif
