hey would like to know how is the job prospect for this course right now in malaysia? most universities said its accredited by the IBMS (Institute of biomedical science) from UK.

Quoting from IMU site ,
"All graduates with an IBMS-accredited degree are eligible to apply for registration as a biomedical scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK upon completion the IBMS Certificate of Competence training portfolio. Accreditation also provides eligibility for the Institution to become a member of HUCBMS (Heads of University Centres of Biomedical Science). "

And what is the difference with Biomedicine from sunway?

Is it wise if I study the degree first, and pursue master overseas and secure a job there instead? (If the job prospect in malaysia sucks)

Ps : just realised I could study half in malaysia, and transfer to UK to finish the bachelor programme . Would it be wise instead to secure a job there after my bachelor? Because i heard that the job prospect here in malaysia is still sucks

I'm tempted to answer your questions... but then again its repetitive...
Use this forum's 'search' function - and search for the terms 'biomedical'....

Once you have read all the results...

then ask again....

Here is a starter for you - https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/476076/all

Job prospects here suck unless you are willing to do interdisciplinary. Sales or marketing.

If you are an average student don't waste your money. First class degree or you're royally screwed.

If you're a first class student then you have a chance. I advise you to do a degree with the final year abroad. UK changed visa requirements recently, can stay for up to 3 years after you graduate if I'm not mistaken. I advise doing something like that.

To be completely honest if you're going to get a BMS degree from somewhere like Sunway or Taylor's, don't do it. You are stuck in Malaysia forever where the job market is shit. Singapore doesn't take Malaysian degrees seriously. Doing my 2nd year biomed, I have spoken to many many professionals in my field. Most of my seniors who do very well end up with full MSc PhD scholarships, research fellows in Europe, Taiwan, Korea. Some working with A* star Singapore fresh out of uni. Take note I am doing 2+1 degree so I am considered a UK graduate. If you get 2:1 or less you are screwed. Another thing, some people go to a foreign university for the sake of it being foreign. This is stupid. Go to somewhere established, especially for something so research oriented. Your connections will matter.

Invest time to learn yourself. EMBL EBI offers some good courses. If you're not the kind to think far ahead or you arent passionate I suggest you turn back now. On top of first class grades, you must secure connections, do internships, attend conferences, etc etc etc.

As Cybersetan mentioned you can use the search button but keep in mind most of the replies are likely from local uni graduates, and not sure how well they did. You will be treated differently based on your experience, your grades, and your connections. Not shitting on local unis as I am sure some are great, UM is top notch. But consider the source of your information. The market is definitely saturated. You must be willing to go above and beyond or you are better off pursuing something else. From my experience sunway and Taylor's graduates are not perceived very well esp in research because they are generally for profit organisations. Established places like UM, Monash, etc are much better.

Sorry my reply is all over the place, cant be bothered to reformat on mobile. You get the gist.

Sorry if this wasnt what you wanted to hear. Good luck.

If you need further info *that you are unable to find on your own* I am happy to help. DM me, I'll send you my contact details. I use lowyat like once a year.lol.
