I just owned a acoustic guitar as an absolute beginner.

And i do have a friend who play classical guitar willing to teach me.

Is it viable to adopt classical guitar knowledge first Eg: Fingerstyle technique. and applied in acoustic guitar later?

Or i should plan a better learning path / find a proper acoustic guitar teacher to start off my acoustic guitar journey

in long run doesnt matter much, cos humans can adapt.

but classical will give u proper technique in how to hold the guitar etc...not so much in finger style cos eventually will adapt later when u learn other songs...that requires strumming etc.

i think starting off with classical is beneficial in the long run as your fingers are forced to be more flexible with constant movement on the fingerboard.

it will help when you start to learn more complex chords as you progress with your acoustic guitar
