Dont expect anything from cap ayam brand. If it is over the warranty period just trash it and get another better brand.

I advise you to just change the water heater to more reputable brand since it's defective now.

Instant water heater is a life and death matter, pointless to save so little for what a life is worth.

As a guideline, if my budget permits I won't buy from any brand with no customer reviews - especially a brand's name to similar to another established brand. With due respect to Pensonic and some of their stuff may be ok for the price but it is no Panasonic and my house has no Pensonic stuff.

if the pump uses a carbon brush motor......that may be the failure point.

usually a change of the carbon brush should do the trick

edit : hmmm.........it uses ac motor........so likely brushless.........

all ac motors have run capacitor........might want to check on that.

AC is brushless motor. But the capacitor might hv failed after 5 to 10 years of usage.

Its a bit tricky to replace capacitor as it require desoldering.. and must know what rating n which are the better capacitor brands if you wanna DIY repair. But after many years its easier to just change a new one, few screws for mounting and electrical connection and hook up the inlet outlet, much easier.

WARNING
Dissecting the faulty one is bit complex and risky (there is remaining charge stored in the capacitor) which u must discharge before touching.

Best to just buy a new one from reputable WH maker brand eg Hitachi or Toshiba. Cheaper ones tend to cut corner coz they were designed for pricepoint. Remember to ensure u have 10mA RCD in DB box per current ST guidelines for safety.

Cornell I think is owned by Pensonic, both Cornell and Pensonic also OEM most if not all of their products.

Better get Malaysian brands that manufacture their own instant water heater in Malaysia, such as Centon, Alpha, Joven, etc.

not choose by me.. but the lousy renovations package that include by a renovation company called Core HOME. Lousy service and given lots of cheap stuff and paying a high price for the renovations. Now almost every water heater in the house using Cornell having the problem and no warranty and leave all the problem to the owner...

Quite interested to know more about this company and your renovation quotation with them. Not to rub salt on your wounds, but I really think house owner should do their own homework and due diligence. Only rich people dont really need to waste so much time / effort to do due diligence, end of the day they can easily throw money to the problem.
