QUOTE(loremipsum20 @ Mar 6 2021, 06:23 AM) Hey guys, ang moh in Penang here. New to these Xiaomi phones...but need a new phone. Currently have a Pixel 3a. Should I upgrade to a Xiaomi 11 or a Oneplus? Sounds like there is a new Oneplus coming soon? Should I wait? I don't know shit about phones... Hi, welcome on board! Xiaomi phones have a reputation for being great value for money in terms of price to hardware specs and performance, however the software overlay is not everyone's cup of tea. It has plenty of unnecessary apps that you don't need and can't remove without extra effort, some of the stock apps have annoying advertisements and once a while you'll encounter a bug or two here and there. Since you currently use a Pixel, I'm guessing the OnePlus' cleaner and lighter user interface will be more around your wheelhouse, but OnePlus phones don't offer the same value for money proposition that they used to. Best wait and see since the launch of the OnePlus 9 is imminent. If anything, you can get the older OnePlus 8 Pro at a discounted price once the new one launches. QUOTE(loremipsum20 @ Mar 6 2021, 04:00 PM) Thanks for the reply. I am more used to the Pixel with no extra crap for sure. I can't believe Xiaomi puts ads in the interface? That is crazy. Do you have to root the phone to strip out all the extra UI junk? Any idea when the new OnePlus comes out???? No, there’s no ad in the interface but just on the stock apps, like file manager, cleaner, etc. And no, there’s no need to root your phone in order to remove the ads or unwanted apps. Plenty of tutorials on YouTube out there. Heard the new OnePlus launches on the 9th... let’s wait and see

QUOTE(woodentiger86 @ Mar 8 2021, 09:12 AM) Wow that's soon. And yes you're right. Moving from OnePlus 8 Pro to iQoo took some getting used too and I kinda miss that slim form factor. I might decide to sell my OnePlus 8 Pro eventually though. Haha, I got the dates wrong - they announced the launch date on the 9th but the actual launch is on 23rd. Not long to go QUOTE(ghoss @ Mar 10 2021, 02:02 AM) One Plus 9 - March 23rd ROG phone 5 - March 10th 7pm Oppo Find X3 - March 11th Hoping RoG upgrade their cameras this time around. This year in the market for phone upgrade but still waiting to see what's good ROG rarely prioritise their camera performance so I wouldn’t bet my life savings on that The flagship phones cycle usually starts send this time so yeah, it’s interesting to see what’s coming up. This year Samsung got a head start on everyone with their S21 series. This post has been edited by attw: Mar 10 2021, 07:52 AM

QUOTE(YummyFriedOnions @ Mar 22 2021, 12:35 PM) Still deciding between this and a S21+. Saw that S21+ has a camera issue (lag up to 5s or more), so leaning towards the Mi11. Knowing Malaysian business practices, we'll have no recourse if we get a lemon. In that sense Samsung’s customer service is not that bad as far as after sales is concerned. Have had some experience with them and so far so good.

QUOTE(wts6819 @ Mar 22 2021, 05:28 PM) Just wondering does Samsung having the same battery issues? Also, easily get slow after 2 years of usage? I've been Samsung fan since S1 and Note1 till 4-Series. But decided to avoid it after that due to battery and lagging issues. I would be the wrong person to ask this... never kept a phone for more than 2 years since iPhone 4 This post has been edited by attw: Mar 22 2021, 08:55 PM

QUOTE(zeliustitan @ Mar 23 2021, 04:22 PM) I'm surprised that this thread never go beyond 50 pages.. considering Mi 11 is a flagship model after all.. I guess forum is only for old timers to use it.. Nonetheless, I got myself Mi 11 to replace my Mi 8. Got myself the air purifier as well as the AIoT Premium Pack too (I'm not a dealer ). I think the appetite for a flagship Mi phone is somewhat dampened by the fact that they are releasing so many value-for-money mid-rangers at less than half the price of their flagship phones. If you’re just a casual user in the market now for a Xiaomi, there’s the Redmi Note 10 Pro, Poco F3 and the Poco X3 Pro (if you don’t mind an LCD display) as very viable alternatives to the Mi 11 - and at much cheaper prices.

QUOTE(zeliustitan @ Mar 23 2021, 05:30 PM) Used to be Redmi Note 3 owner here.. I must admit Redmi Note 10 Pro is way to go. I used to own a Redmi Note 5 Plus and a Redmi Note 7, they’ve definitely made huge strides for the Redmi Note 10 Plus. Ordered mine from Lazada but still yet to receive it. It must be selling like hot cakes, haha.. Oh, and another thing, I bought my Mi 10 late last year at RM1,999 (plus another 10% coins cash back on Shopee) so another reason why many are holding back on the Mi 11 could be they are waiting once again for the steep discounts - like me

QUOTE(ASoulNamedLeo @ Mar 30 2021, 12:29 AM) No need to sell off, because besides the camera, the Poco F3 wins on processor, screen and battery life, plus the F3 has 5G while the Mi 11 Lite(Malaysia version) is using Snapdragon 732G with 4G only The 11 Lite is value for money if you are amongst the first 500 buyers and can get the free gifts

QUOTE(Landmarkyap @ Apr 13 2021, 11:45 AM) Hi bro, it's about time to update titles as Mi 11/11 Pro/11 Ultra Haha, sorry bro, bit busy at work lately. Will try to do update the front page and add the Ultra in this upcoming weekend QUOTE(Landmarkyap @ Apr 13 2021, 02:25 PM) Xiaomi from beginning till now still facing GPS issue + location not accurate I tried a few Xiaomi phones and I would say my last two, Mi 10 and Poco X3 NFC did not have much issues with GPS. The issue was pretty bad with my older Redmi Note 5 Plus and Redmi Note 7 back in the day but I thought they’ve more or less fixed it already. Anyways, do share some lowlight photos from your 11 Ultra

QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ Sep 24 2021, 11:37 AM) if want OIS and 1440p curved screen. Ahh, I see... Still, not justified to spend that much extra for just those features. hopefully they'll have another round of discounts for the Mi 11 like they did the Mi 10 last year and sell it for 1,999 to clear stocks
