Im also still waiting for them to sell to the general public. Gonna be a month since the intial pre-order. I would think that the units would be available for purchase around now already. Its taking quite a while.

Honestly why you guys never book during the pre-order in Lazada and Shopee? I booked and got mine rather than play waiting game here.

Don't tell me it finished in few minutes. I booked mine in Shopee @ 12:00 midnight, 120units left, 6am i look at it, still remained 100+ units. No one interested IMO, because of the stingy free gift? i don't give a damn to be honest.

That means there isn't a global release yet or it is never planned to be released?

I can't speak for everyone, but for me I was still researching phones at that time, and the mi 11 ultra reviews for very early stage pre-released software reviews which were said to have some bugs and whatnots. Now that more reviews are out, especially by non-china specific models, I could make a more informed decision. Not everyone needs to be an early adopter. And local reviewers like LimReviews also released his review only middle of April which is past the pre-order date. So can't blame a guy for doing his due diligence before spending Rm4.3k on a phone. Theres always a risk being an early adopter anyway, for a phone at this price, I did not mind waiting a month after the pre-order to buy it. But am just surprised they didn't release it to the mass market yet.

Been using the 11U China ROM version for about 2 weeks now.

Just noticed something kinda amusing.

Been playing Candy Crush Soda every morning and my gawd, the lag when did some combos were really apparent. Game Turbo mode was on and I fiddled with the settings but same issue.

Then I switched on the refresh rate indicator to check, seems that it was changed to 60Hz when I was playing the game.

I didn't face that sort of animation lag on the iQoo 7 nor my previous 1+ 8 Pro though when I played the same game.

Not really a dealbreaker per se but just an observation to share.

Well, this is my 1st time to spend 4.3k on a phone, and 1st time buy from pre-order. I'm also a person who tends to wait for review before buy anything.

The main reason i do so this time:
1. I have watch quite alot of review from China youtuber, and i don't think the risk is high and most of the review is quite promising.
2. This is the biggest reason i go for it: unknown future supply due to global chip shortage crisis. It means either the stock is limited or the price is going to increase. I'm in that industry and i know how severe the crisis going on now, everything from cars, PC, mobipe phone, home appliances impacted.

So i won't be surprised it didn't release it to the mass market due to reason 2 above. The demand from China alone is overwhelming let alone any stock for global market.

I think gsmarena had mentioned this issue in the review

Anyway, how's the MIUI 12.5?

Being an EE that work on Li-ion battery management system, I would like to share my view on the 11 Ultra 67W charging.

After almost 2 weeks of usage and battery charging observation through wall plug power meter and accuBattery:

1. The 67W charging is depends on your battery temperature. The temp is obviously capped at 40'c and it will throttle to 45W or 32W charging when reach higher.
2. The 100% full charge voltage is 4.5V reported in AccuBattery which is ridiculously high based on Li-Ion technology. Often charging to 100% is guarantee going to shorten the lifespan very fast. The healthy full charge voltage shouldn't exceed 4 3V for the sake of lifespan which is at approximate 80-85% SoC and Xiaomi exploit the capacity to the max obviously.
3. The charging current is expected at 3 - 4C (4x of capacity) during initial charging which is very high, couple with high temperature (yes, 40'c charging at more than 1C is insane), this will be a killer to the battery lifespan

There is a reason why Xiaomi reduce the insane 120W charging from 10 ultra to 67W for 11 ultra, the wider speculation could be due to short lifespan of the battery and only Xiaomi know that. Try to see any established phone maker like Samsung, Apple why they don't deploy fast charging. Currently only those Chinese brand phone come with ultra fast charging like Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus.

What i practicing so far is charge until 85% max and will charge when only left 30%, always charging from 0-100% is going to reduce the lifespan drastically. Also i charge using my previous QC3.0 samsung charger which only capable of charging @ 14W or 3A max, it took 1 hour to charge from 30 - 85% while keeping the temp at 36'C which is acceptable to me. The 67W quick charge is reserved for urgent top up, otherwise i don need that speed at all.

Anyway u don't need to give a damn on this if you are not intended to keep a same phone for 4-5 years like me.

Thanks bro. Yea, I did read the article as well. Haven't tried other games yet but I know games like GrimValor was pretty much ace on the iQoo 7. I don't really game that much on the phone except for that daily Candy Crush fix so all those benchmark games like Genshin etc are pretty much things that I tend to read only but never gave much consideration about.

I'm more into the camera and the photo quality etc.

So far since using 12.5, I did notice some improvements in the battery life too. Not so bad as the first few days using it plus using the tips you'd shared earlier too.

Interesting observation bro.

I'm pretty much spoiled right now cos moving from the iQoo 7 which tops up the phone within 15mins - those first few days with the 67W charging on the Mi felt kinda sluggish.

I guess once you've tasted something like 120W, very hard to re-adjust back to the somewhat 'slower' speeds. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the battery tips too. I'm trying to at least keep the 11U for at least 2-3 years this time.
